Something I missed before because I wasn’t paying attention is that Tashi tells Lily and her mom that she loves them. So she isn’t just one of those people who never say those words, like my brain filled in before. Now I wonder why she doesn’t say it to Art or Patrick. My best guess is that she used to say it to Art, she just doesn’t anymore because she’s got one foot out the door whether she’s willing to admit it or not. It’s easier to guess why she didn’t say it to Patrick, given the absolute state of their interactions whenever they’re onscreen. A lesser thing that mirrors that is that Patrick tells her he misses her twice, and she kisses him, but doesn’t verbally respond.
Is it that things are so unsettled when the three of them aren’t together she’s waiting for the other shoe to drop? Her reticence to verbally express herself in that way is even more interesting to me now that I’ve noticed that’s just a thing that applies to the guys.
