I squeezed in a trip to Kino Sydney in August; the last one I could make it to before we moved away. After Picnic on the Moon went down well the previous December, I decided to screen my other straight 8 film, Curiousciousness.

It was fun to be involved in this community even if it wasn’t for very long!

Curiousciousness looks at the thoughts and views on various aspects of consciousness from a variety of people (and an iPhone).

What is consciousness? How does this change while we sleep? Can robots be conscious?

This film was shot on one cartridge of super 8 film and sent away exposed but undeveloped to straight 8 2012, to be married with the audio which I edited digitally. Everything was shot in order, and edited in camera.

Sheffield Doc/Fest

If anybody is in Sheffield tonight, head to The Article Monoplex on Sidney Street to enjoy a range of film screenings tied in to Sheffield Doc/Fest. Can't make it to Sheffield myself but have treated myself to a short trip to Cannes next week, can't wait to see all the films (as due to the nature of straight 8, have not even watched Curiousciousness yet). straight 8 2012

Straight 8 results are in, and Curiousciousness will be screening at Sheffield Doc/Fest on the 16th June, at Cannes Lions 2012 on 22nd June, and at Rushes Soho Shorts on the 18th July. Very excited, and grateful to everyone who helped bring the film together, including Rina Yang (cinematographer), Benjamin Jackson (music), Ollie Firrell, Katie Steed, Martha Ormerod, Pamela Hiscock, Ellie Foster, Caroline Wenham, Cassandra Vervoort and Becky Liddiard!
