Brunswick - Are you a person who is often jealous? what makes you jealous most often?
āYeah, no. I donāt do jealous. I donāt lack for shit in basically any life department there. Great job, great finances, great friends, great home, great me. But I mean, if youāre asking with my recent hook-up, Iāll tell you the same thing I told him:
Heās more than free to fuck around. Annnd then paw right back to my feet once that taste makes it clear thereās no one nearly as fun as me.ā@curiouslich
Avie had always known that some day her past would catch up to her. In some deep, dark reaches of her mind it had always been there - the niggling thought that the truth would all come out one day. It was why she had so painstakingly made sure her family would be protected, taken care of, she supposed.
Kalyanar would never have understood; it was why sheād never told him of the black shadow hanging over her life. Deserters never prospered, much less deserters of vicious paladin orders. The Blood Knights had come knocking and The Sunguard had refused protection. She didnāt blame them, her crimes were not excusable just because she had made a name for herself elsewhere.
She wished the children hadnāt seen it, wished that Iiloridan or Minna or Kalyanar had gotten to them sooner. That someone, anyone, had spared them the sight of her overwhelmed by swords too many to count. She wished theyād just killed her then, instead of this long and drawn-out example of her they were making. The trial had taken months, her friends and family interrogated under conditions none too fair for any scrap of information against her, any words that could be twisted to suit their needs.
Eventually, she had confessed. She had deserted, that much was obvious, but the murder of her father and the takeover of her lands - she gave them it all. She refused to see her family prosecuted for her wrong doings. Caemenas may not have died by her hand, but it was by her doing. She would not see her husband or children threatened a day longer and if that meant she had to pay the dearest price then so be it. Her past had already cost them everything - the Isle and all itās assets siezed; by some miracle the Court had escaped seizure, if only because her name had not appeared on any deeds and the Brightquills had had the sense to burn everything the proved the two empires were actually one. At least they would have that, her children would not go without.
The shackles felt heavier than normal as she walked the length of the prison corridor for the last time, biting with cold around her wrists. She had forbidden anyone attend but Kalyanar...she knew he would come anyway. She mouthed a singleĀ āI love youā as she was pushed to her knees and then looked away; she couldnāt take the pain on his face.
In the end, it was quick. Her death was not honourable or memorable. Avie Brightquill died by the sword of her judges, without a cry or sob and a silent apology on her lips.
@curiouslich I hope you know I hurt my soul writing this.@edaigoa
What did your character dream of being or doing as a child? Did that dream come true?
Sorry this is so late i think this was posted around when i started getting sick.Thanidiel did not have a lot of dreamy aspirations, as could possibly be predicted. Sheās always been a excessively grounded individual.Ā
She always just saw herself in the military since she grew up in that environment and was absolutely suffused in it. Obviously, that goal was satisfied. Though I imagine it was a tad bit more flighty when she was much younger and she saw herself more in the place of a Farstrider or true Knighty-Knight than as a normie infantryman (and later Blood Knight + cavalry captain)
š - What is your characterās favorite holiday?
For Rhobu thatās secretly, but definitely Valentines, underneath the big grumpy brows thereās a huge sap that goes all out with fancy self made dinners, planned things to do and bought fireworks to end the day with.Ā
(HOLY SHIT THIS TOOK FOREVER TO WORK ON, SO I APOLOGIZE RIGHT NOW.)
I actually had to think on this one. Edit: And my answer became a lot longer than intended, so Iām inserting a Read More cut below this line.
For Nuellen, her biggest flaw might be seen as one of her best character traits: Her Loyalty.
More specifically, itās her loyalty to the people or creatures she grows emotionally attached to. As a person functioning in society, this probably isnāt that big of a deal, and loyalty is sometimes seen as a rare quality to see in certain circles. However, as someone who is also involved in different military branches (The Sunguard and The Farstriders, to be clear) and has worked on skill sets that make her a dangerous person, if there is an enemy who wants to find a way to really set her off, they know precisely where to start.
If Nuellen is faced with someone violently threatening her companions or close friends and family, she will do whatever she can to eliminate this threat ASAP. This also connects to her own mental state, as one of her main fears is the loss of those she cares about the most; Iāve written on a few scenarios on what it would be like if she had to deal with those losses and depending on where her current story was going, those results were - more often than not - terrible and featured her emotional/mental psyche being shattered.
On that same note, those loyalties and emotional attachments might also make her consider or act against her own moral beliefs. To provide an example of something that had already happened:
During the MoP expansion, near to the end of it, Nuellen was involved in an incident where she had accidentally discovered and surprised a secret meeting between some warlocks. One of which was @makotokinoās Sanarissa Firewing, who had reacted by (naturally) attacking this would-be-Spy, but ended up incinerating Nuellenās animal companion Ergrer, a raptor she had rescued and then bonded with.Fast-forward some time later, Sana had discovered who the raptor belonged to, and approached Nuellen with an apology and gave her a soul stone that housed her raptorās soul. His body was gone, but his soul was at least intact. Nuellen kept him close to her by encasing the stone in a cage pendant that she wore around her neck. Then WoD happened, and Nuellen had been among those who went through the portal, now exploring Draenor and doing her part to thwart the Iron Horde... Nuellen still missed Ergrer dearly, despite having grown a small pack of dire wolves to keep her company. So, driven by an itch to have him back, she left for the Gorgrond Jungle and stole a freshly laid raptor egg. When she returned to her camp, she shattered the stone over the egg and watched the soul enter the shell, which had a likelihood of already having a different life forming within the egg. She then worked to incubate and hatch the egg properly and discovered she was successful in bringing back her Ergrer.
Where this affects her morals is the fact that this was a form of necromancy and instead of accepting his loss and moving on, letting nature take its course, she took one life away in favor of another. She rationalizes that this wouldnāt be a repeat offense, but itās certainly something for her to meditate on and find a way to atone for it. But who knows, if her mental stability is compromised by a much more important loss, would she fall to such measures again? She certainly would have to be careful not to let that happen.
@curiouslich - Only because you sent the question, but I recall this being from a list of questions I posted like... a year ago, almost, lol. But thanks for sending it! Was glad to finally address it.
