Ghost Pipe Plant or monotropa uniflora is a plant that is normally all white and can grow in very dark environments because it doesn’t need the sun to make chlorophyll. That’s the green you see in most plants. It instead acts like a parasite growing on specific kinds of mycorrhizal fungi. What the fungi takes from its association with a tree the ghost pipe plant then takes from the fungi.
