#543.5 - Venipede are impulsive and aggressive Pokemon that possess a wicked venomous bite. By using the feelers on their head and tail, they can pick up vibrations in the air to determine the location and state of their prey. Once located, they leap for their prey without a second thought and inject a paralyzing poison. As Venipede age into Curlipede, they begin to develop a thicker outer shell, which both protects them and weighs them down, slowing their attacks and reactions. In time, Curlipede will begin to curl up, where their expanding armor-like shell will encompass them completely.
#544.5 - Storing energy for the next period of growth, Whirlipede tuck themselves out of sight and wait motionlessly, only expending large bursts of energy when attacked. As they grow stronger and transform within, fissures will develop in their shell, allowing them to unroll themselves and aggressively attack their opposition. By slipping their horns though holes in their armor, the maturing Whirlipede, called Furlipede, are then able to roll back up and rest. They will continue to roll into a wheel-like form when passive until they have grown too large and must live the remainder of their life uncoiled. The vibrant hue that colors full-grown Scoliopede is a warning to those around them.
Named: Venipede - Curlipede - Whirlipede - Furlipede - Scolipede
(Curlipede [cur·lih·peed] and Furlipede [fur·lih·peed] maintain the “-pede” suffix, from centipede, combined with “curl (up)” and “(un)furl,” respectively.)
