thinkgin about liz webber again. grips head. her need to always find something or someone to blame. the deaths of her friends are her fault. the involvement of people in the paranormal is veríssimo's fault. the rise of the desconjuração is dante's fault. there is always something to blame. there is always a reason something happens. the suffering is not just wrong place wrong time, no! the deaths are not just bad luck! that car crash that killed her mother was not just a car crash! and liz webber can prove it so! she can defy those deaths at every turn, stitching up her friends and undoing damage done. she can reach into every mystery, digging through secrets and drawing out the reason for everything. because if it all has a reason then it can all be prevented, and liz webber can be the reason it stops.

I'm not gonna do this for every episode but considering it's been a year and a half (dear lord) since I watched episode 1 of OPD I thought it would be fun to compile the same list I made for my AOP rewatch. Anyway I present to you,

THINGS THAT HAPPENED IN OPD EP 1 THAT I TOTALLY FORGOT ABOUT

Beatrice canonically has no idea how to play Tetris due to a terrible roll on Triz's part. Triz then rolls a perfect 20 on Beatrice sussing out the fake drinks in the fake vending machine.

Someone (severely injured) is fully dropped down the stairs to the base. This is played off as a regular occurrence.

Cellbit is STILL not doing a deep voice for Senhor V it's weird it's bad it's terrible he is NOT the Senhor V that I know *points at OPD!Veríssimo* who are you and where is my mal-adjusted father!!!

The absolute chaos of having a large player/NPC party with several new players. Everyone talking over everyone there's like two conversations going at any given time it's SO much crazier than I remember.

Arthur accidentally ate Kaiser's mini body cam because he thought it was candy.

Bea "eating a beef steak" in the van on the way to the apartment (Triz was eating food and her cutlery was hella loud.)

Liz had both sleeping pills and one of Daniel's horror novels on her bedside table. Girl are you trying to sleep or not.

THE HORRIBLE DICE ROLLS IN COMBAT. NEITHER THE PLAYERS NOR THE NPCS CAN SHOOT FOR SHIT. THEY SUCK. THEY ALL SUCK SO BAD OH MY GOD.

Kaiser pushing through the player party after the fight: "Excuse me, excuse me, coming through, pardon me." *Starts searching the corpses' pockets*

Name one character you headcanon as arospec because of textual reasons.

Textual reasons? Typically I'm usually for slapping aro headcanons on characters for vibes, but if I had to argue for an aro label supported by text, I think my go-to is gonna have to be Kaiser. Because like. Obviously. His whole arc in OPD is so goddamn aro-coded and aro-hopeful that it made me bawl like a baby when it came to a close. Up until OSNF, he had resigned himself to spending the rest of his life alone, on the fringes of society, but then (at the age of thirty years old!) he still somehow manages to find himself some close friends, who become his family. In the end, he isn't alone---no romantic entanglements needed. Adding the aromantic label to his character really enhances his story to me. He has very close relationships with his friends that run deep with emotional complexity and are clearly his highest priority in terms of the relationships in his life. Also very aro.

10. Is there a character you just can't ever see as aromantic?

Look any character can be aro if I squint and tilt my head hard enough but I think it's really important that Remi be absolutely unhinged about Maria in a Romantic way ok. And Maria the same back to him. So sickly in love with each other in many many fucked up ways. I adore their twisted version of romance. Let love be a powerful but morally neutral force. It can make people do both wonderful and terrible things, even to each other. And it does not negate the fact that they do love each other, in a way they would both define as romantic.

Aromantic fandom thoughts?

Ordem Paranormal one of the most aro medias I've ever watched amen amen. Stories that center on relationships that are either explicitly platonic, familial, or are left large and undefined, but all of those relationships are treated with equal weight and respect, and the platonic/undefined ones are often the emotional core of the series. (AT LEAST. IF WE'RE TALKING ABOUT THE RPG. THE COMIC HAS BETRAYED ME AGAIN AND AGAIN.) Anyway ily Ordem Paranormal mwah.
