Yes, Jasper's death was tragic as fuck. He died lost to the intentions of Aguiar's mask; he killed an ally in cold blood and then had to be shot down by his friend to stop him from killing anyone else---something he never would have done if he was in control of his actions. He died not protecting his friends, like he wanted, but instead drowning in guilt, and self-hatred, and sadness.

But what really got me was when Remi used his ability to collect Jasper's intention, to invigorate himself, and when asked by Cellbit, Cereaw explained that Jasper's intention was drowned in guilt, and self-hatred, and sadness---but under all of that, a glimmer of pride in himself for having given it his all to protect his friends, for as long as he could.

So, in collecting Jasper's intention, Remi had managed to reach past all of Jasper's guilt, and self-hatred, and sadness, and unbury the good of all that Jasper had done for them in that fight; the good that Jasper had done that Jasper himself could not see in his final moments. Fuck, man.
