You know that scene in Interstellar where the school like bans kids from learning about space exploration and discovery and it’s like “Hey! We have to worry about our dying planet we don’t have time for your crazy wild dreams!” and as an audience we’re supposed to be like “Boo! We shouldn’t limit creativity and exploration”

Well watching the news cycle for the last few weeks basically showing the world going to hell in a handbasket (as it does every week) only to see Elon Musk and his uglier than sin, not even street legal “cybertruck” and just knowing all the money he makes from this monstrosity goes to funding an unquantifiably expensive trip to Mars for him and his billionaire friends, while the world that birthed them and the systems that gave them their wealth is constantly hurting the rest of the people that share this planet and could conceivably be fixed if any single one of them solely chose to, makes me really and unfortunately feel like the school was onto something
