there was a school shooting in tennessee yesterday with a trans perpetrator. you are going to see it leveraged against an entire community. you are going to see it used to prove that trans people are unstable and dangerous to children. i am begging you always to denounce violence wherever you see it, and to never trust an individual or outlet that tries to paint a community of people as entirely bad.
when a member of a marginalized group commits a crime, they are taken as representative of that entire marginalized group. work against that idea and identify what the actual factors are that lead to horrible violence like this.
