Minimum Support Price (MSP) is a form of market intervention by the Government of India to insure agricultural producers against any sharp fall in farm prices. 3.NHAI enters Guinness World Records for laying 75 Km long continuous Bituminous Concrete Road in record 5 days National Highways Authority of India - NHAI and its contractors entered Guinness World Records for laying 75 Km long continuous Bituminous Concrete Road in record 5 days. 4. RBI increases repo rate by 50 basis points to 4.90%; forecasts 6.7% inflation for 2023; Real GDP growth rate pegged at 7.2 percent The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) Governor today announced that the Monetary Policy Committee voted unanimously to hike the benchmark interest rate by 50 bps with immediate effect. 5.Standing Deposit Facility The SDF is a liquidity window through which the RBI will give banks an option to park excess liquidity with it. It is different from the reverse repo facility in that it does not require banks to provide collateral while parking funds. 6.When Was SDF Introduced? The idea of an SDF was first mooted in the Urjit Patel Monetary Policy Committee report in 2014, which later received the government’s nod following an amendment to the RBI Act in 2018, vide the Finance Bill. The necessary legislative amendments to introduce SDF was made in 2018 through the Finance Bill and the RBI has refrained from utilising the facility for a few years now. 7.RBI proposes to allow linking of credit cards to Unified Payments Interface The Reserve Bank of India has proposed to allow linking of credit cards to the Unified Payments Interface. RBI said, the facility would initially be enabled for Rupay Credit Cards, that too after the required system development is complete. It has informed that UPI is the most inclusive mode of payment in India with over 26 crore unique users and five crore merchants onboard the platform. 8.RBI raises limit of individual housing loans provided by cooperative banks The Reserve Bank of India has increased the existing limits on individual housing loans that can be extended by cooperative banks. In a statement, RBI informed that limits for Primary (Urban) Co-operative Banks - UCBs have been doubled for Tier I cities from 30 to 60 lakh and from 70 lakh to 1.40 crore rupees in case of Tier II cities. 9Large crowds of Kashmiri Pandits and devotees gathered at Mata Kheer Bhavani Temple on the occasion of Jyestha Ashtami The temple is dedicated to the goddess Ragnya Devi.
