Editorial illustrations for Current Conservation. Article is a first person account about the process of studying saw-whet owls in the wild.

I had a wee experience volunteering to catch corncrakes for RSPB so I was aware of the process a little bit-- though we did not trap the birds in mist nets.

A banding station in the middle of a forest where Saw-whet owls are extracted from mist nets and taken to the cabin to be weighed, measured and banded.

I made this illustration from different kinds of fruit netting. The textures are uploaded here along with a sample. Free to download and remix.
