My current physique.... 86kg After being on 3400 calories for a few weeks I noticed huge changes in my physical appearance and mental stamina. After speaking with @revivestronger he confirmed what I thought was happening, and that was my body’s performance was slowly drowning in calories. At 3200 and still a 400 calorie surplus my body was performing so much better and that is a huge part of your gains. Just because you have the green light to bulk, doesn’t mean your body will suddenly begin to gain muscle (naturally). There are still strategic ways to push your body in the right direction and small increases in calories every few weeks (I personally go 4 weeks) will allow enough time for your body to adapt and you will see the effects for example; increased strength, recovery, energy ect. But when your body can’t keep up the bad effects can be loss of energy, mental focus even as far as depression depending on the person circumstances.
