I'm so happy that the freak food that I've headcanoned for dragon cuisine has been canonized by this game. I seriously gotta draw sometime soon cuz this is like. EXACTLY what I imagined dragon food is like

All of the elemental lair scenes for Flight Rising, together! This was a hell of a project, and you can really see where I learned as I went. There's a lot I'd go back and change if I could still but overall I'm super happy with these and so glad to get the opportunity

I know I've been ragging on Neopets a lot lately (And I am myself a part-time player of it, though I don't spend money on it,) but I just wanna give FR players perspective on how GOOD we have it. It's good that we critique FR and its accessibility of course, always pushing for new standards so nobody's left behind, but sometimes the small problems on the site really get blown out of proportion and attributed to malice rather than misunderstanding or a lack of knowledge.

Meanwhile, Neopets, a 30 year old petsite, released something I'm gonna call the "fuck the epileptic cosmetic" on their site. Flash warning big time, hit "HTML5" on the preview if you wanna see what I mean. Really tho. Flash warning. They're fixing it at some point but jesus christ

Bad FR Idea

To make Tidelord return, the userbase must now perform an epic sitewide plot where they must defeat powerful foes in the coli, chart multiple stars in a fictional sky, find one precise pixel in multiple large images, and solve 10 obscure riddles. Every answer/Foe is different for each user to guarantee a unique experience and every newbie needs to play this event in order to see Tidelord again.

Your reward is a clan-bound Sopping Tidelord Sackdoll.

See this is why I have the headcanon of the amounts of food/materials gathered is actually measured in dragon-units. Which I imagine are like... 100 pounds of [ITEM]=1 unit gathered. Cuz if I was the Clan leader and my doofus Clan went out and got into "a few scrapes and battles" to bring home one singular roadkilled skunk, I'd banish them from the territory

I have so many headcanons about Flight Rising that I wanna doodle out. Not just headcanons about the physicalities of dragons, but stuff like medicine. It's all too easy in fantasy settings to hand-wave that kinda stuff as "heal it magically" but I like the rep of having mobility aids and medications for dragons

Imagine being a Veilspun pharmacist and you get a prescription request from a Helios-Class sized Imperial and spend the rest of the day with your swarm of fellow pharmacy workers moving pills into a huge jar for pickup

Imperial: Before I do that- this is the name brand, right? From the Nature Flight? I find the Arcane production brand upsets my stomach

FR users: [Give critique and feedback, a few absolutely lose their minds, some go on to make a plugin to restore the old layout]

Neopets: Hey we just re-launched the story plotline. The site is absolutely befucked and takes upwards of ten minutes to load some legacy pages, most just don't load at all. The page elements on the new pages are suffering from cascade failures as things break connections to each other. We will proceed to take 22 hours to restore the site to a usable state.

Neopets users: GUYS I MANAGED TO LOAD SAKHMET SOLITAIRE II

I love the new site layout.... But I'm also an old abused 25-years-playing Neopets user who's used to being put in a salad spinner and tossed into a highway when it comes to format updates so maybe I'm kind of a statistical outlier

The commas in the treasure count ROCK. And I love the spacing of everything now, it feels much more open and helps my eyes relax, especially with the main page

AWIGHT I've sat with the layout for a while and I think I've come up with some things I'd like to see:

I would like my achievement points counter back, maybe between the treasure and gems counter at the top right. There's a big ol space between them and it feels like something should be there

My lil Which Waystone buddy!! I'd like them back in their universal position on the right of my screen instead of on the left under the site navigation

A personal thing, but I'd love the default site banner to have a nighttime version in Dark and Slate mode and not just a dimmed version of the regular art. Like how it changed during the downtime phases of the Unfathomable Odyssey! That was aesthetique as hell
