       wise words from a strong woman . for the first time in awhile , hatori allows himself the grace to smile , a subtle melancholy dancing in its corners . head tilts , obscuring sight of a broken eye , before offering a shake of the head . as much as he’d love to allow the stress to finally take over , to give in to the ever - present tension lingering in the back of his mind ... there’s no time for him to give in . he can’t transform just for the sake of his own selfishness .

He lifts his head when he hears his cousin’s voice. There was no denying that he was utterly exhausted, but he didn’t want to let himself rest until he knew that Isuzu was doing at least a little better.

Her eye’s darted towards the ground at the mention of the ox, who was the last person she wanted to hear about.  At this point, pretty much everyone in the family was aware that she was avoiding him, so there truly was no use in denying it.  “There’s nothing to talk about.  I just don’t want to see him or hear him.”  It hurt to say those words since they were the complete opposite of how she felt, but she couldn’t let the kind fool get hurt because of her.
