( Because this idea from this ask emerged from a particular previous, I shall put here slight reference for those who were not around by that time. And if I remember correctly I hinted something about that here too . )

And that's it, these two reactions pretty much summarize it all. Torn in dilemma and mad confusion, he knows the 'monkey' is not that 'monkey' anymore, which won't only fuel his rage but also won't allow him to murder them right away. He shall not see them equal to the other sorcerers who were born gifted. He'll simply see them as low-grades, paws, and peasants unless there's someone really, really powerful emerging enough for him to consider them 'blessed' amidst late awakening.
