In terms of not making OCs that are just yourself, I think part of the richness of your characters is how often they're created as duos! A spiribia OC is never just one concept or gimmick, they're part of a dynamic where some things about them are largely shown through someone else. So even if there's bits of you on all sides of that dynamic they're in conversation, and the truth is somewhere in the tensions between.

I'm with you. I remember when there was a question of how many burn phases it took to kill the dragon at the end of Dragon's Stand. I remember the magic of getting it on, like, the second burn and being incredulous and thrilled. I did it once with current power levels and it just fell over after the first phase it's not magical anymore :(

Yeaah I do think out of the AB - TD - DS trinity Dragon's Stand meta aged by far the best but the actual battle against Mordremoth is so disappointing now, you barely ever see the 3 bosses on the islands spawn anymore D:

My personal grief goes to the blighted tower phases, I /loved/ how stressful they were having to keep that circle going until the middle bosses finally died after excruciating 20 minutes (in the really bad cases). It's no fun when they all die after you've barely run a single full circle. Though - I will say that, if you're on a half empty map they can still have some of that "this is way too tight" charm. I've been lucky in that regard on some days. Though Mordy unfortunately still tends to be a pushover 😞

That said I appreciate that it's so much easier to get into DS meta instances nowadays. Full DS maps (and they were /always/ full) were the bane of early HoT days.

Anyway thanks for coming to my bi-monthly plea to buff the HoT metas to keep up with current power creep and also for the love of god undo the South gate nerf in Tarir. @ arenanet

Fun fact Logan used to be a mercenary, of a somewhat rough kind. Much less of a fancy boy before he got his current job. So I'm not surprised that extrajudicial murder wasn't fully off the cards.

Huh! On the one hand, I wouldn't have ever imagined that background from the personal story. On the other, he does often seem frustrated by the constraints of Krytan society and his position, so it makes a certain kind of sense.

Like, in the noble storyline, the bandit situation does get resolved through formal channels and traditions, but Logan is super gung-ho about backing up the PC in trial by combat, and he does mutter about taking things into his own hands if they don't work out this way. And in the commoner story, he's the one who rushes into a fight with a ton of Ministry guards while Anise urges caution. So "no, you can't just try and murder him, we've got to lure him out so we can actually kill him" isn't necessarily out of character for him even given the other storylines. And it also makes sense that he'd bother less with the fancy captain persona when the hero who rescued him is an ex-bandit from the streets.

6. Do you have real life relationships that have come from or been shaped by your play of Guild Wars 2?

Not as in folks I've met IRL, but I have definitely made some more friends thanks to this game, so...yep yep! :)

10. Do you have a (not so) secret Guild Wars shame?

Using this as a space to tell a funny story, which hopefully fits well enough--I joined the game towards the end of July 2020, and so the first festival I was level 80 for ended up being Shadow of the Mad King, aka Halloween.

I was like, "oh, cool! I don't know what any of this is, but let's find out!" and promptly ended up in a labyrinth that I somehow had zero clue how to navigate while being chased by our friend Steve the skeleton with a chainsaw. (A wonderful way to meet the guy, tbh xD) I didn't end up properly playing through that festival's events until 2021.
