This was the first real customization my friend and I made when we first started this little sub-business of ours. It was a blast. Life and distance kinda made us go our separate ways though, and eventually it was just me making the cases. But I still love looking back on this piece.
It was a My Little Pony AJ themed case for a friend of ours who had lost the use of his old PC. Held a charity sketch stream and all that. Even had a few people send us parts they weren’t using, like the RAM chips.
Didn’t have a CNC machine at this point, so all the stencil work was done by hand. (We used stickers for the lettering) We painted the GPU, the cooler, the ram chips, even the mobo. It was a build we had full creative control over, and it turned out beautiful as a result. Though now I think the big apple painted on the SSD is a little silly. Should’ve just left it white.
The little bucket of apples was held there with magnet, and was really just there as a joke.

My review of a generic case I bought off of Geeks.com. Bought this case for $30 total. Purple Sky Island
Dozens of examples of not only modified or "modded" computer cases but custom, built-from-scratch enclosures and objects repurposed to contain a personal computer (or laptop guts). Hopefully this little example inspires a reader or two to read further and delve into the realm of computers as artwork! Computers are everywhere, so why shouldn't they be pleasing to look at?
Enjoy!
