Ingredients: 1 cup 2 sticks unsalted butter, softened. 1 cup granulated sugar. 1 large egg. 1 teaspoon vanilla extract. 3 cups all-purpose flour. 1/2 teaspoon baking powder. 1/4 teaspoon salt. Food coloring red, yellow, green, brown. Royal icing store-bought or homemade. Assorted toppings sprinkles, mini chocolate chips, etc..
Instructions: Mix the softened butter and sugar together in a large bowl until the mixture is smooth. Add the egg and vanilla extract and mix them in well. Mix the all-purpose flour, baking powder, and salt together in a different bowl. Mix the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients one at a time until a soft dough forms. Split the dough into four equal pieces. One piece should be left alone, and the other three should be colored red, yellow, and green to look like pizza sauce, cheese, and vegetables. Put each color of dough in a plastic bag and put it in the fridge for at least 30 minutes to chill. Warm your oven up to 350F 175C and put parchment paper on a baking sheet. Lay out each color of dough on a lightly floured surface and roll it out until it's 1/4 inch thick. Cut the rolled-out dough into triangles that look like pizza slices with a pizza cutter. Put the pizza slice cookies on the baking sheet that has been prepared. Bake for 8 to 10 minutes, or until the edges are just beginning to turn golden. Let the cookies cool all the way down on a wire rack before you decorate them. Once the cookies are cool, use royal icing to make each slice look like pizza crust and toppings. To make the pizza slice look better, add different toppings like mini chocolate chips or sprinkles. Let the royal icing dry all the way before you serve and enjoy your decorated pizza slice cookies.
