A bit late, but to celebrate the announcement of Super Smash Bros. coming to Nintendo Switch, I figured it was a good time to finish up the Little Mac minifigure that's been in the works for a while. If you think the boxing gloves were the reason it took so long, you'd be right. The Mayor of Metro City, Mike Haggar. Originally from the Final Fight beat-em-up games, he later made his way to the Marvel VS Capcom series, where he's made his most recent appearances. As a former wrestler, some might say Haggar's fighting style is very similar to Zangief. More Street Fighter characters are here as well. I had planned from the beginning to make Guile with the flat top hair piece, so I had it set aside for quite a while. The real challenge for Guile was making his camouflage pattern pants. As a member of the Air Force, it wouldn't have worked for me to just ignore the camoflauge pattern. I also went ahead and gave him his signature American flag arm tattoos and dog tags. To avoid constantly using the same male head that I also used on Ryu and Ken, I used a head that's primarily used for Aquaman, since the eyebrows match his blonde hair. Finally, another Mortal Kombat character that isn't a colored ninja. With the peach-skinned abs featured on Swimming Pool Batman in the second series of minifigures for The LEGO Batman Movie, many characters are finally able to be worked on. Liu Kang was the first of these, due to his importance in the storyline of the Mortal Kombat series. Although he's recently taken a backseat from being the usual protagonist, Liu Kang's significance in the series is still there. I knew Yoshi's head was going to be a difficult task, but thanks to another custom minifigure designer, I found a great method to make it work by combining actual LEGO parts with paint and clay. The primary use of paint was for the eyes and coloring the clay, while the clay was used for his spikes on the back of his head, and filling in the racing helmet piece that makes up his nose.
