Wait, there's people who DON'T get fixated on a single topic and make it their entirely personality for a week before moving onto the next topic??

The first issue of ‘DC x Sonic: Metal Legion’ is now available!
It's a good sign whenever you come across something you wrote ages ago and you think "Younger me was so annoying, cringe, and stupid." It means that you've improved as a human since then.
Saw The Muppet Show special on Disney Plus today. After so many attempts to revive this franchise I can honestly say after seeing this one... They nailed it, they really nailed it. They did an amazing job of recreating the energy of the original show, it doesn't feel like they missed a beat.
Outside of a brief montage during the beginning (and the return of Muppet Labs and Muppet News (which surprisingly may be the funniest bit in the whole thing)) there isn't much focus on nostalgic throwbacks or even this being a "Special Event" (Kermit's "We may be starting again depending on how tonight goes" was just for promos). It feels very much like an episode of The Muppet Show that just happened to be made in 2026. Honestly what made me freak out the most as a Muppet fan was the various cameos from obscure or lesser seen Muppets sprinkled throughout (Hilda even gets a line of dialogue for the first time in nearly 50 years!).
There's also attempts to experiment with the Muppets, having them cover music genres and parody stuff that they haven't in the past. More than just recapturing nostalgia, it recaptures the joy felt when watching the show, seeing these bunch of frogs, dogs, pigs, and whatevers attempt to put on a show, only to constantly fumble and end in explosions.
Definitely give this a watch.
After hearing the news about Paramount Skydance constantly complaining about failing to buy Warner Bros and rebidding over and over, I just couldn't resist.
"We did it Patrick! We made it to the end of 2025!"
Lowkey feels weird seeing SpongeBob and Patrick being the ones to do this when they offered an absolute last minute banger of a movie before it concluded.
My niece and nephew have really gotten into the Sonic movies as of late (2 is their favorite). I did show them a little bit of 3, but they found Gerald Robotnik to be too scary (my niece did like Shadow and Maria though).
One time I was reading them a Sonic storybook and I got to a page that said "Sonic's arch enemy is Dr. Eggman", to which my niece responded "It's Dr. Robotnik!" and I just found it so funny to hear such a 90's kid response coming out of a child born in the 2020's.
Disney is a company with a history of making bad decisions (even going back to the era where Walt was in charge of the studio), but the recent announcement of investing $1 billion in Open AI hit me really badly. The whole reason I became an artist in the first place was because I wanted to be able to draw Mickey Mouse. The fact that he was created and brought to life by living people inspired me to learn how to draw. Now Disney straight up is like “Oh we don’t need all those human artists to do all that stuff, we can just let the computer do it.” This decision not only feels like an insult to the fans, but an insult to every single artist whoever worked for the company.
Am I shocked Disney made such an awful decision? Not entirely. As I’ve said, they have a history of making bad decisions no matter what the era, but this feels more baffling than anything considering earlier this year they were planning to sue Open AI. Disney is a company that has a history of being extremely strict with their IP, to the point where they sent a Cease and Desist to a daycare center for having unlicensed Mickey Mouse art on their walls. Yet here Disney is giving $1 billion to something known for making inappropriate content. Even with protections in place, there will be people who will find work arounds. Trust me, I’ve been on the internet for awhile. I’ve seen people put crap pass the radar again and again. The difference now is that it will be inappropriate slop with the Disney logo on it.
It’s especially bothersome for me, because Disney productions have always been a comfort for me. Whenever I’ve felt sad or angry or negative mood, doing something Disney related usually cheered me up. Wether watching a Disney movie or show, reading a Disney comic book, drawing Disney fan art, or discussing Disney history with friends, the mouse house has been my go-to comfort zone. Sadly it’s a bit hard to go to that comfort zone when that’s now become the source of my frustration (and sadly far from the only entertainment company to be pro-AI).
It’s understandable to be angry, but I should make it clear that while we should be critical, we shouldn’t attack anyone still working for the company. Like many mega-corporations Disney is a collection of various smaller companies and studios, and not every part of that is going to agree with this decision like it’s a hive mind. Plus in this day where jobs are getting hard to come by (especially in the entertainment biz) people need to hold on to whatever they can find to support themselves. We also shouldn’t attack everyone who still buys Disney stuff. We don’t have to agree with them, but at the same time we shouldn’t pester everyone on the street who wears a Moana shirt.
Am I frustrated with the Disney’s recent decision? Oh yes, very much so. Do I hate the Disney company now? Well, not entirely. While I don’t love everything they’ve put out I still have a love for the studio’s creative output (I say sipping cocoa out of one of my Mickey Mouse mug, wearing my Mickey Mouse hoodie, sitting at my desk adorned with Mickey Mouse figurines, having just finished my annual viewing of Mickey’s Once Upon a Christmas). Whenever I express my love of Disney it’s for the creative side of the studio, not the meddling-executive business side, and I know several others feel the same way.
One could argue creative side needs support now, if anything to prove to the higher-ups that it’s human creativity that’s kept Disney alive for over a century. That brings up the question though, how do we support the creative side of a company while still being critical of the business side? Is there even a way to do that when they’re connected with each other (as nearly every creative company is). I do not feel qualified to answer that question, and even if I did I don’t feel comfortable telling people what they should do with a situation like this. The best advice I can give is to use your own judgement, just as I’ll have to.

I'm boycotting Youtube today due to the whole "AI deciding wether you're an adult or not and if it says you're not you have to give us your ID" thing, and it once again signifies how horrifying it is that Youtube appears to be the only option for video content nowadays (TikTok is an entirely different beast).
Back in the day there were multiple video platforms to chose from, Rever, Blip TV, and a few others I can't remember. This gave people multiple options to view, share, and produce content. Nowadays while there are a few alternatives, Youtube is the only one that most people know about.
This is dangerous because traditionally if a platform or service implements something that people don't like, people have the option to leave and chose something else. However, thanks to YouTube having a total monopoly on web video they're the ONLY option. There's no where else to go. It's like if there was only one service available for accessing cable TV. Since it would be the only option, that mean they could do whatever they want because it's the only option, raise prices, censor content, require personal information. It's horrifying and that's the world of long-form web videos now.
Several other websites have attempted to compete with Youtube, but they rarely last more than a year (if a year at all), because most people don't check the alternatives because everyone is on Youtube.
What's the answer to getting more video platforms to compete with Youtube? I wouldn't know the answer, but someone needs to figure out something, because if we don't, I don't think things are going to get better.
In ‘Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed’, the Graffiti City track is has a lot of 'Jet Set Radio’ characters around. Despite being a stage set in the 'Future’ game, DJ Professor K is his design from the original.
No idea how I missed this cameo.

The Ultimate Superman/Batman Reading Guide
Do you like Superman and Batman's friendship but don't know where to start reading? Or are you just looking for more to read? This list is for you!
Comics can be quite hard and complicated to navigate, especially when two characters have interacted for 69 years. A lot has happened in that time! I made this reading guide to help you along. It's organized by era and (mostly) in chronological order.
Many thanks to @katsuyacrimson and Orph for their input and help, and @worldsfinest for some last-minute info!
Some personal faves:
World's Finest vol. 2 (1990) >> Good starting point if you want a self-contained story that is not really in continuity.
Superman/Batman (2003) >> Good starting point. See under 'Post-crisis' for reading order.
Dark Knight over Metropolis >> See under 'Post-crisis' for reading order.
Batman/Superman (2013) #1-4 and #16-20 + annual #2
Batman/Superman (2019) #16-21 + annual 2021
Alright, long list under the cut. Enjoy your reading!

this site's userbase is so sex positive that it circles back to being aphobic sometimes.
I'm going to say this, because I feel like it needs to be said. If you don't support people's right to not have sex, you are not sex positive. If you think everyone has to have sex at some point in their life, you are not sex positive. To be sex positive you have to respect the choices and autonomy of everyone in regard to what they do and do not want to participate in.
This means you must respect peoples choice to have sex before marriage, to wait until marriage, to participate in kink, to experiment and decide they don't like it, to never experiment, to remain celibate their whole life, to participate in hook ups, to never have a one night stand and to have preferences. You are not sex positive if you don't respect everyone's choices in regard to what they do and do not want to participate in.
If you think being fifty and never having had sex is sad, you are not sex positive. I you think only participating in hook ups is lonely, you are not sex positive. If you think everyone must have sex and that everyone will eventually want to have sex, you are not sex positive, you are a fucking creep. Your amatonormativity is not sexual liberation or sexual positivity, it's disrespectful to the autonomy of those that never want to have sex.
And none of that "asexuals can want sex" stuff from the allos, that phrase is used to respond to the infantilisation of asexuals, and this post isn't about that.
