Style moves too far out, I guess, since the usual trend -- "cover up more skin" -- isn't in play. But, cut-offs generally are played as too low-class for Veronica -- so the replacement is an odd choice.

A missed editing hic-cup. Recolored it though -- improperly. I suppose she could have changed into them, but then that makes no sense as it would have been out in the open.
