going along with the fact that edelgard doesn’t seem to like that a non-human entity is manipulating the human race in canon, i can only assume that she wouldn’t like controlling the humans within the adrestian empire in her castlevania verse. i think she would rather drink the blood of humans she deems.. criminal. i used the motif “lady adrestia” to refer to edelgard in the past, but i think it would best suit her as an actual title in this verse. since adrestia is known to be goddess of just retribution, the balance between good & evil, i feel like edelgard judges a lot of criminals (petty or not) & determines their punishment. the worst ones.. the absolute worst.. i mean a girl’s gotta eat.
Here comes my boyfriend (♡´艸`)
@sanguris // anne
‘ i appreciate the offer, but even if hilda said i could stay, i have a tendency of having all those around me getting killed. i cannot protect you and your friends from the volturi. if any word of me being here reaches them, your coven will be put in danger. i cannot risk that. i am sorry, but i cannot join your coven, no matter how tempting the offer might be. ’
"there are two types of people who like to kill from a distance: cowards and pros. in my experience, both are dangerous."
//pspsps corazon come get your boytoy, he's very thinly referencing his chem-fucking, poison-sucking, bomb-happy brother again
@vessmar.
“ oh, i love it when you shittalk. even if it is about your funny rat-like brother. ”
they’ve shared an extensive list of killing methods by now. after knowing vesper for a few centuries humans tended to become predictable. the ones who acted on instinct were the most predictable, fear and crimes of passion made people sloppy, and there was very little flair, no art, to the act of butchering. vesper had no qualms about throwing his brother to the wolves and her response was chime-like laughter. she revelled in the moments vess revealed about himself, or his background, however unintentionally. that his brother used to fight like that, that he - himself - didn’t. all fascinating little factoids she’d keep for later. she swivelled her bar stool so crossed knees faced him more directly, leaning forward with a playful glint in golden eyes.
“ i can kill from a distance. which one am i, baby ? ”
"You're not the only one with deductive skills." @ cor
@gracelis.
“ okay so, tell me what you’ve deduced. ”
to be entirely frank about it, the only applicable use of her investigative skills was to set fire to the evidence. that was primarily what she’d been hired for ; a specific kind of mercenary that swept clean bodily evidence with ravenous glee. in most of the manananggal’s cases though, the situation was more clean cut. the guilty party hired her to get rid of evidence, and then witnesses. sometimes, she could manage to nail two birds with one stone. what she hadn’t anticipated was needing to delve a little further into the political climate to find her exact target.
“ my client has a long, and arduous list of things that need doing - but i can’t start my mission without knowing why they want over eight members of your brother’s fraternity dead. ” corazon smiled, sickly sweet, as she pushed the ornate cup off coffee in elodie’s direction, a peace offering topped with sunflower honey biscuits. early morning, and yet the woman sips at her own tea with dramatic, elbow length gloves, and a large brimmed hat failing to hide luminous, sharp golden eyes. “ past grudges, fraudulent stocks, three other missing people from a party two years ago, a sister who took her own life but wouldn’t reveal why. it all sounds so intriguing, does it not ? ”
“ personally, this isn’t the type of case i take on but i’m stuck in it now, i suppose. if only to satiate my own curiosity. what do you think, miss delwyn ? ”
