CVAN EM Steering Group members
Deadline: 2nd February 2018
CVAN EM is seeking new Steering Group members as we deliver the last phase of a three-year programme of activity and plan for the future. We would especially like to hear from individuals with expertise within: the artist-led community, non-HE arts education, diversity and the Creative Case, leadership and talent development
The role of the Steering Group is to oversee, engage in and advocate for its activities. Members are recruited on the strength of their relevant expertise and their capacity to be involved, as well as their commitment to CVAN EM’s mission and aims. The Group features representatives from key regional visual arts organisations and individuals from the visual arts community.
Candidates must be based in the East Midlands region and will be selected to help us maintain our commitment to represent the geographic breadth of the region at Steering Group level. Members will be expected to attend three Steering Group meetings per year and to actively participate in project groups.
Details about this opportunity here.
The Start of Something: Derby Visual Arts Summit
Déda, 19 Chapel St, Derby DE1 3GU Monday 22nd January 2018, 9.30am – 1.30pm
Derby Visual Arts Summit will comprise a morning of debate and discussion about the visual arts in Derby.
In recent months, summit conveners Artcore and Derby City Council Arts Development have both had a number of separate conversations with artists and creatives about gaps in provision and development opportunities for the sector have taken place in the city. Artcore have also been successfully running their Art Attachments project; this has highlighted significant interest in studio, residency and exhibition opportunities for early career artists.
This event aims to bring these conversations together, to explore what is currently working well and what gaps may exist and to generate consensus on priorities and ambition for the visual arts sector in Derby. It will also form part of the consultation for the new Derby Culture Strategy. This will provide opportunity and context for priorities highlighted by the sector to be taken forward.
This event is FREE but booking is essential
via CVAN-EM.
