So I recently started roleplaying Bruce Wayne, he’s mostly a generic Batman I don’t want to like, specify him and shut anyone off who may not had read the comics or seen specific tv shows or movies or something so he’s kind of his own thing.
However I actually really enjoy all the DC CW shows so I’m gonna just give a basic outline of how he is when interacting with characters from that, this is like completely optional I just feel like writing about it.
So to start with the generic origin stays the same, Bruce was just a child and his parents got killed by Joe Chill and all that stuff that everyone knows. He became batman, although worked mostly in the shadows, only people who lived in Gotham really ever saw him and the rest of the world just saw him as a sort of Big Foot because there was never a good picture of him, just blurs of black against a black night sky.
He fought crime as Batman for a while, saving his cousin Kate but failing to save her sister and mother. This failure haunted him, he’d done the calculations, acted, everything should have been fine but it hadn’t. He’d miscalculated and it had cost the lives of more of his family. He became protective of the very little family he had left and (unless they reveal some shit in Batwoman, this was around when Dick Greyson became robin) he continued to fight crime with the help of Robin and Lucius Fox and Alfred Pennyworth and later on Luke Fox and Julia Pennyworth.
Eventually Robin became Nightwing and left. Jason Todd later became robin but then “passed away”. After all the losses Bruce became slightly unhinged, struggling with loss after loss he began to get sloppier. Tim Drake became the next robin after working out who Batman was and figuring he needed a robin however things didn’t get better. In a fight with Joker he was pushed too far and as the Joker hung from railing over a vat of acid at ACE Chemicals, Bruce stopped and didn’t save him.
Considering this himself breaking his own code and rules he tried to stay the bat for a little while longer but it felt wrong, he wasn’t deserving. Although the Jokers body was never found, criminals began to whisper that the Bat had taken the Joker out. Nobody could confirm it, it was never made public, but the hush whispers alone made the crime rate plummet.
Feeling he was no longer needed, he hung up his cape, needing to find himself again, telling Tim to go back to enjoying his youth before leaving Gotham to travel and get in touch with himself and his code.
During his absence the crime rate quickly picked back up again, his cousin took up the mantle of Batwoman and we’re at where the show begins basically.
I think at some point in the show he might show up, which could be interesting as it’ll throw most of this out the window but until then, this is where I imagine most rps with CW characters will happen. With Bruce Wayne coming back to Gotham. Refreshed and more in touch with himself than ever, ready to go back to being Bruce Wayne but more importantly Batman.
