Heart-Break -TJ Perkins
~This story is not all the way done, I am still editing and working on it. I just wanted to post this up now because I needed to see if people liked it.~ Yes I will be making a part two as well.
People say that when you fall in love, it hurts. But they never tell how you how badly it hurts, when you’re heart has been broken. They don’t tell you how many, seconds, minutes, hours, days, weeks, months, years, it takes too fully repair yourself. They don’t tell you how many tears you’ve wasted or how many drinks you have consumed because you finally thought you got over ‘them’. They don’t tell how much pain you’ll get from love especially, if it’s from your first love.
I would know all these things because I’ve experienced it like no other. In fact it still haunts me every night and everyday that I have to see his beautiful smiling face and remember I’m not the cause for it anymore. It still pangs my heart with jealousy when I see him talking to Sasha or Bayley. It still feels like open wounds has been cut open over and over again. And the worst part is that this feeling will never go away. It’s like his name is tattoo on my heart.
He was my first everything, my first love, my first kiss, my first time. And now he is my first heart break. He is the soul that haunts me in my dreams. The nightmare that never goes away, the thought that never disappears. The one I’m always thinking about. His name is T.J. Perkins.
I’ve always been the type to not fall in love. I was always independent, I’ve made sure that when I made it into WWE that I would keep my walls up and not let very many people in. But with TJ it was different, by just a smile that he gave me, it would send butterflies to my stomach. With one look with his big chocolate brown eyes, I would melt, It’s like his love consumed me, everyone kiss has awaken something in me, and every time we rolled around in the sheets at ungodly hours in the morning made me feel loved, but now that is all over. Because I’m finally understanding why they call it heart-break.
THE BEST OF 2016
2016 is almost over and I feel the need to highlight the things I most enjoyed this year. This is, in no certain order, the top media items I invested my time, money, and emotions into, during 2016.
TEACHERS
Teachers was the well-needed comedy I needed for my entire adult life. There are still lines from the first season of Teachers that make me laugh as much as cringe. I've never experienced such raw, honest, comedy that truly speaks to me as a woman. The Katydids are amazing and Teachers is proof of it. I look forward to January 17th's season 2 premiere.
OVERWATCH
I have to say, Overwatch is the best game of 2016. If there is one game that might be the "WoW-killer" for me, it would have to be Overwatch. As someone who re-subs to WoW periodically every year, since launch, just for PVP, Overwatch is a godsend. Not only is the character design, gameplay, and environment just so much fun, there is no paid DLC. Seriously. That's unheard of for any online game. Blizzard nailed it, again. Now, please excuse me while I go scramble for more Winter Wonderland lootboxes before January 2nd.
WWE WOMEN’S CHAMPIONSHIP
The moment I had wished for since that damn butterfly belt came to be, finally came to pass this year. The Diva's belt is no more. At Wrestlemania 32, WWE unveiled the new Women's Championship. It was presented by none other than Lita and promptly won by Charlotte. When they set off fireworks to celebrate her victory I cried. To my knowledge, they've never done that for a woman. It really meant the world. Although, I feel that the subsequent brand split put an unnecessary strain on the women's division, if there has to be a belt for each show, I am glad that both of the women's belts are sans-butterfly.
11.22.63
Confession time. I completely screwed up and did not watch the last episode of 11.22.63 before my Hulu subscription lapsed. So, although I can say I thoroughly enjoyed this show, I haven't completed it. That being said, this show convinced my that James Franco is an actor. I have inexplicably liked him since Freaks and Geeks, but his performance in this show is powerful. Also, as always, Stephen King makes the real world even more horrible than it already is.
THE MIGHTY THOR
There are two comics I consistently subbed to for the whole year. The Mighty Thor is one of them. Jason Aaron writes a badass Thor. I'll say it again, Jason Aaron writes a badass Thor. I experience a certain type of freedom when I read The Mighty Thor. I liken it to the absolute release I feel when Stone Cold Steve Austin puts a stunner on Vince McMahon. Except, in this case, Stone Cold is a woman and Vince McMahon is every foe in her way. And the artwork is amazing. Russell Dauterman makes every panel meaningful and beautiful.
WARCRAFT
I have wanted a Warcraft movie since I saw the first cinematic opening for World of Warcraft back in 2004. I saw that dwarf hunter and his bear and thought, "I could watch a whole movie of this." Fast forward to 2016 and I'm watching a whole movie of that, and orcs. The orcs are my favorite part of the Warcraft movie. The way they portrayed magic and spells is probably the biggest innovation, but te orcs are my favorite. They all look so convincing. Granted, I am absolutely for the Horde in game and IRL, so I am totally biased, but the orcs look amazing. The interactions between Durotan and Draka are the realest portrayal of a loving couple I've ever seen on film. As a WoW fan, I really enjoyed the movie. Also, I'm looking forward to more dwarves in the sequels too. They had a good showing in the first one, but I want more. I'd love a whole movie about Blackrock Depths.
STRANGER THINGS
Stranger Things is the best D&D campaign set in the 1980s. Seriously, I love the fact that the main characters who start the show off playing D&D, end up going on their own quests in real life. If any show gave me all the feels this year, it was certainly Stranger Things. Eleven just breaks my heart. Dustin is the living embodiment of a fantasy dwarf (my favorite!). I have made respect for the sheriff and Winona Rider kills it. Seriously, if anyone deserves the crazy, loving mother award this year, it's Joyce. I don't know what season two will be like, but I do feel that the first eight episodes of Stranger Things are a perfect standalone project. I'll just have to wait and see.
WWE CRUISERWEIGHT CLASSIC
The Cruiserweight Classic was my favorite wrestling presentation in 2016. So many talented wrestlers from different backgrounds and promotions were featured in this very unique display. It really was a weekly installment of dream match after dream match. Even though he didn't win the tournament, Kota Ibushi was the star of the CWC for me. I knew he was good, but... wow. Overall, the CWC rejuvenated my interest in wrestling. I know it's impossible, but I wish it never ended.
BRUCE LEE PODCAST
Its only been in the past two years that I sat down and watched Enter the Dragon. And since then, I've absolutely loved Bruce Lee. So I was beyond happy to not only see that there was a Bruce Lee Podcast, but to learn that it was produced by his daughter AND that it mainly focused on Bruce Lee's philosophy. Bruce Lee was a physical badass, but the way he lived his life and approached life, are just as important, if not more so. Shannon Lee and Sharon Lee are continuing Bruce Lee's legacy in a very personal and honest way. They promote his beliefs with the aid of personal anecdotes that could only come from Bruce Lee’s family.
MONSTRESS
I will give a special shoutout to the other comic I consistently purchased all year: Monstress. Marjorie Liu and Sana Takeda are killing it. I personally have fallen behind in reading the issues I've purchased, so I want to give credit where it's due, but also fess up to being a slacker when it comes to reading comics this year. Digital versions included with physical copies really do make reading comics easier (especially when you mostly read them at work).
WESTWORLD
I recently finished watching WestWorld. Wow. It was really good. I don't think there's much I can say about it that hasn't already been said. Barnard is my favorite character, with Maeve in a close second. And Dolores is a really great protagonist. Just reliving some of the moments now, really makes me appreciate the way all the stories/quests intersect, in game and IRL. It's definitely a show that anyone can enjoy, but as someone who plays online games, it's just that more meaningful. Also, I have a soft spot for robots/droids/AI/etc. My favorite discussion about West World went like this. I said, "Ford really is a horrible person." To which my boyfriend laughed and replied, "He's the greatest DM."
ROGUE ONE
Immediately after seeing Rogue One, I thought, the pretty much impossible, “Did Rogue One just become my favorite Star Wars movie?” I really enjoyed it. Up and down it is just a solid movie. Jyn Orso is hard. K-2 is hilarious. Chirrut and Baze are my new favorite duo in maybe anything. They are like a tag team in wrestling. I can't single one out that I like better than the other, they just work so well as a team. If Stranger Things was the best D&D show this year, Rogue One was the best D&D movie (of course Warcraft might be tied or right behind). A backstory is presented. A party is assembled. A mission is carried out. I'm also not ashamed to admit that the tears flowed freely down my face several times. I'm a sucker for this movie.
SHINSUKE NAKAMURA’S NXT TAKEOVER BROOKLYN ENTRANCE
One of the best things to happen this year, for me, was Shinsuke Nakamura's entrance at NXT TakeOver Brooklyn. I felt humbled by the entire performance. As it aired, I literally thought, "This must be what world peace feels like." So many worlds were combining in that arena, and everyone was captivated. I was truly moved to tears. Every time I hear that version of the song, my eyes water. Shinsuke's energy, and everything surrounding him, is magical.
