Browsing on Amazon, I saw that a new Riddler TPB collection is coming out soon and in the recommendations for that, I spied a new TWO-FACE collection, due in October. (Search Amazon for Batman Arkham: Two-Face.) The cover art (it might be temporary) depicts the Neal Adams cover for Annual #14, which is amazing, indicating that it MIGHT be included in the collection! Have you heard of this? Amazon's information on it, alas, incorrectly repeats the RIDDLER TPB's contents! IDK what to make of that.
A friend of mine actually pointed that out a few weeks back, hidden amidst a bunch of solicits for 2015! I’d actually forgotten all about it until you just reminded me. I was excited at first until I too noticed the incorrect Riddler info, and now I’m worried that Eye of the Beholder won’t be included, despite the use of the Neal Adams cover (which is subject to change).
Even more suspiciously, the only creators listed in the solicit are Paul Dini, Ramon Bachs, and Eduardo Risso. First off, Dini? The only Two-Face story Dini’s ever written was “Two Timer,” the one for The Batman and Robin Adventures, and since DC rarely included DCAU stuff with the comic trades, it seems unlikely that it’d be collected.
Second, Ramon Bachs? Oh god, PLEASE tell me that they’re not including The Long Way Down, one of the worst and most pointless Two-Face stories ever told! And finally, Eduardo Risso has never drawn a Two-Face story, so unless it’s something new for the collection, his inclusion must be a mistake.
Looks like we’re going to have to wait until July or August for the proper, corrected solicitation to give us the real lowdown on this possible new Two-Face collection. God knows I’d like it to be at least better than the abysmal Batman VS Two-Face trade they put out after TDK.
