AU where Joseph is a pillarman
I've been thinking about this for a very long time and have come to the realisation that I don't have any AUs where Joseph is a Pillarman. Maybe it's because I want my AUs to be unique?
I do have similiar, though!
I have Children's Whispers Sealed Away, which is where Joseph is an ancient Hamon Warrior that was woken up with the Pillarmen. But, the Speedwagon foundation wakes him up without his memories, so Joseph has to slowly remember his past and regain his Hamon abilities.
Plot twist, it turns out that in the past the last Pillarmen, who survived a horrible incident that wiped out their species and wasn't caused by them and could also survive in the sunlight for around 5 hours tops, were allies with the Hamon Warriors. Joseph was very close to the Pillarmen, to the point of being their honorary "5th member". However, the Hamon Elders were becoming weary of Joseph's growing powers and believed he was going to betray them for the Pillarmen. So, they sealed him away.
This obviously didn't sit well with the Pillarmen, so they waged war on the Hamon tribe. Santana was sealed away in the chaos, and the war ended with the entire Hamon tribe almost being wiped out. The last three Pillarmen try and break Joseph and Santana from their seals, but are unable to. So, they sealed themselves away to wake up in the future.
Upon waking up they believed the war was still on and wanted the Red Stone of Aja to defeat the last Hamon users. On the other side, the Hamon tribe was taught to believe that the Pillarmen started it all and were evil, so both sides have a skewed view on it all. The Pillarmen don't recognise Joseph due to how long it's been since they've seen him. (Though they feel like he's familiar.)
In the end Joseph remembers everything and stops both sides from fighting, and both sides coexist in peace again.

And two other AUs that are kind of Joseph being a Pillarman?
I have the "Swap AU but nothing makes sense" AU if that's anything.
So Joseph is a Pillarman simply because of who he's swapped with.
And I also have Streak of Lightning, where a character from another series becomes a Pillarman (and Joseph's mentor) while Joseph becomes a species from the other series. So, close but not quite.
Maybe I'll try a Joseph as a Pillarman AU? Maybe one where he defected from the main Pillarmen group and was opposing Kars killing all the rest? We'll see!
