♒ - A conflict my muse had while dealing with their family, either resolved (and written in retrospect) or unresolved (and written in frustration of the event).

Sometimes I wonder if father even knows who I am. Sure, he knows that I am biologically his child, but he doesn’t really act like my father, nor I like his daughter. He knows that I am a samurai too, but it seems like those are the two singular things he knows about me.

He has now decided, as our clan is dwindling in numbers, and I am not the model samurai my brother is, that I obviously want to give up as a samurai and settle down with some guy, get married and have a small army of children. I’ve tried to explain to him that I’m not interested in any of the many people he’s introduced me to, but apparently I’m not giving them a chance. Apparently when, not if, I have children of my own then my opinion of them is going to miraculously change too.

Today we had an interesting ... conversation about how I seem to be taking on so many missions that I’m barely at home any more. He thought that Mifune-sama had been pressuring me into taking on so many missions, and that it had nothing to do with me basically dragging my team off on every single mission we were allowed to do. So, of course, he went and spoke to Mifune-sama and asked for me to have some time off from missions on my behalf, which he somehow was granted.

I didn’t get angry with him this time though, and he thinks that everything is fine between us, possibly even that I’m grateful to him for doing this for me. Either way, he’s leaving to go on patrol in an hour for the rest of that day, and I fully intend on spending that time on picking up the longest mission Mifune-sama will give me and leaving before he gets back.

I really do hope that my teammates won’t mind on going out on yet another mission. I suppose that at least it pays well.
