his voice is shaking, cracking from the anger and the tears he’s trying so hard to hold back.

the prefix to every blood-spattered wall. and then on to the next one.
being a hitman was fun a few years ago, but then something miraculous happened: he started to develop a moral code. so now, he kills the people who hire him, and he still gets to cash the check when it comes in the mail. really, it’s a win-win.
and there are those wonderful, rare days when he gets time away from work. he still has a gun strapped to his back, but he hardly ever has to use it. right now, he’s spending the late mrs. donovan’s money on drinks, raising a shot to her husband who’s lucky she hired him instead of some other guy.
and it’s then that he notices someone staring; not uncommon. he’s not exactly unattractive. but this is the first time he’s stared back.
he slides a few bills across the bar and sends the next drink their way.

he’s not sure whether to be embarrassed or pissed the fuck off, but he’s decided on somewhere in between.
his last fight alongside the resistance wasn’t that difficult, but some fuck on the other side had better aim than the others and shot his leg to hell. april insisted he stay in a wheelchair until it was repaired, but he refused to look as pathetic as hun and stockman.
so instead, he’s been struggling his way around the base all day on a pair of crutches that look like they’ll snap under his weight any second, and the last thing he needs is for mikey to see him like this.
