Hank Henshaw’s despair
“…Shinji is such a BITCH ASS protagonist…SEE I just “got in the robot” NO fucking problem…”
People online are saying that Hank reminds them of Homelander. Guys, come on, let’s give Hank the slightest credit: He’s actually competent in a fight.
As with Brainiac, I'd never had strong feelings about Cyborg Superman as a villain either way before but MAWS really just commits to making them so detestable that I can't help but love to hate them. And in both cases they leave just enough of a sliver of genuine humanity in there to make it possible to authentically engage with them as characters, which is what makes them really hit.

Listen, do the dramatics hit, yes, are the visuals p great and the performances on point, totally
But at the end of the day, Hank Henshaw crashed himself out to tears and death (well, rest mode) after meeting the biracial kid of his one-sided nemesis and that’s so fucking funny—
I see people being like "Why does Hank hold Superman responsible for his condition when he had nothing to do with causing it?" Because xenophobes don't famously love to irrationally blame the immigrants for their own shitty lot in life rather than the billionaires actually responsible, right?
