[8:07:39 AM] Christa Renz: HOW DO YOU FIND THESE THINGS
The night blessed them with some peace, and for that, the Commander was thankful. Their mission had been particularly risky, though that was nothing new, but the aftermath had finally arrived, granting both the young and old soldiers the ability to wind down.
Not that many of them would; currently huddled up in a cramp, temporary space, thinking about the events-- and of course, losses that had come from this. Erwin knew all too well, much of his current worries in regards to that, and the eventual reputation he and his men would get for not performing flawlessly in the face of danger.
He waited until later that evening for the voices, cries and shuffling about to settle down, before he even bothered to pass any of them. He was troubled but, he'd keep it to himself, shrugging away all thoughts to go fetch a tea. Thankfully, his ventures out into the quiet hall brought him a distraction that was actually worth the hassle-- a familiar face passed, one he'd intended on seeing at some point, but hadn't exactly made plans. A young soldier that contained a determination and ability that was refreshing for the older man to see.
"--Kirschstein." He said abruptly, knowing his tone would bring the other to a halt, and the sudden thought his booming voice may actually startle the young man came to mind. It wasn't exactly light and well lit after dark. "I apologise for being so sudden-- do you mind if we talked for a few moments?"
He was surprisingly, well, not exactly casual, but lenient in his wording tonight, considering his position. But not many were around, so who was to truly judge?

[Undated note.]
J.K -- I'm impressed with Kirschstein's performance and progress. Overall, out of the recruits, he is one willing to take action and give orders when in dire situations. I have not always been present at these events, but I have heard talk, particularly stories of his earlier days. While I was initially worried, he is proving himself as far more levelheaded than some of the others.
I can see a bit of myself in him, I suppose... I was never praised for my skills in team work, and I'm starting to see why this soldier's statistics reflect his actions-- it's an unnecessary trait for a leader. I don't think he's quite there to believe that in himself, though, but there is definitely a drive and motivation there that others do not have and it should not go to waste. It takes a lot to take control of a situation, especially when it isn't your actual duty to do so. Sometimes, it is necessary, and I appreciate the fact he goes out of his way to do the things he does, so I can make exceptions. They're not done foolishly, either, compared to some.
Perhaps if I can think of a well-worded enough compliment, I'll tell him this, myself. I wouldn't want to affect his progress in any way by doing so, though.
