i think the only way Imu could've Stockholmed Dragon would be in a universe where he caught him right after God Valley,he was young so not as capable of resisting Imu's tactics and actively having several crisis.Plus he had no support system since he was on bad terms with his father, not to mention the topic of Luffy
i feel like a monster discussing what would be the optimal way of absolutely wrecking him but it's so fuuun
Bro, I am HERE for optimal ways of wrecking Dragon in this pairing.
You're completely right, Imu's best bet at getting Dragon attached to mu is around that God Valley timeframe for all of those reasons you pointed out about crisis's and lack of support system.
Imu probably won't go to 'collaring' Dragon right away like "to hide a selkie's coat" because Dragon isn't a high risk criminal figure when being brought in. There's still soft ways to convince him to join Imu's side, ways that maybe the Marines could change.
Of course, I think slavery would be a definite turn-off for Dragon, no matter the age, so Imu would have to be careful about that.
@sroloc--elbisivni @triscribe Ideas on how else this might work? Since you guys like this ship too. :)
if you ignore the *horrors* imagining garp dealing with WORST in law one could possibly have in that world is kinda funny + the in law is also his boss
My gender-neutral bro, that's part of the reason the Dragon/Imu crackship is HILARIOUS.
I mean, there's angst. But it's also the very basic funny of what if the MC's endgame villain was HIS PARENT. Which means people like fucking GARP get to be connected to said endgame villain too, and considering Garp FISTFOUGHT said villain in God Valley?
you mentioned an au where Imu meets dragon at god valley and my shivers have been timbered ever since
garp come get your baby and bring roger you'll need the reinforcements
Hahah, yeah, Garp needs to be there IMMEDIATELY. The AU I was talking about is the Warlock Patron one, and it's a brief enough meeting that I'll share the section of it here.
But I think it would be REALLY fun to do a more in-depth God Valley interaction between Imu and Dragon sometime.

The first meeting is an accident. Chance, some might call it. In hindsight, that meeting certainly becomes more akin to fate. But at the time of, Imu does not know that.
At the time, there is only the Hunt.
The Hunt that Imu’s subjects partake in, each year. And also the Hunt that the Knights must carry out, the extermination of the Davy line.
Two birds, one stone. Is that not how the saying goes? The pirate is surely dead under the power of Imu’s forces by now, and if not, he will be soon.
A flicker. A flash of a God Knight, somewhat separated from the rest. Another time, another place, Imu ignores that flicker entirely. Continues onto the core of this situation, where the pirate that dares challenge Imu’s rule of the world awaits, where Imu shall mark him with Omen.
Lead Rocks D. Xebec to destroy what he loves most.
But here, now, for some reason Imu...leans in.
Saint Maffey. Satchels.
Hunting one particular individual, instead of following the orders to drive off, to slaughter, the invading pirates. Curious, Imu sinks in to claim limbs and body alike, and the vessel allows mu in, as vessels are meant to do.
Eyes and Observation open, there is a cloaked figure fleeing before them. Or attempting to flee, damaged and weighed down with something that it carries. Something that gleams with life in turn. Hm.
Male, Imu is certain. The Haki of the Conquering King coats the air, exhaled from the mere weight of Imu’s attention, reaching towards him. The cloaked figure, the young man bears his teeth like a wild animal. Trembling. But he does not fall, does not back down. Does not give up the child he holds.
Figarland’s line, the memories of the body inform Imu. Stolen away by an ignorant woman and then this man on top of that, the return requested by Garling.
Interesting.
Troublesome.
Perhaps Imu should slay him, this thief. There are pirates about on this island, easy enough to blame, should the rule of the Native Hunting Competition be not enough. Pirates that should not be here, what is that spawn up to-?
The spawn’s appearance is useful enough for one thing: for his line to be wiped out once and for all, in Imu’s unspoken name.
Imu’s hand tightens about the familiar weapon forming in hand from pure power, seizing about the weapon pressing into the thief, marking him, ready to kill-
Lord.
Hm? Through another set of ears, eyes, the message sent mind to mind, Imu catches-
The Davy offshoot yet lives.
Imu turns mu’s attention more fully to that situation, towards Saturn. Leaves the Satchels vessel to fight to retrieve the Figarland offspring.
i agree that shanks prob wouldn't break holy land luffy out... willing
he also probably wouldn't notice a little sapling sneaking out with him admist the chaos of everything...
Shanks trying to figure out why the God Knights are hunting him down like there's no tomorrow, didn't they buy his lie about him not being involved in any of the mess?
And then, whoop, a kid on the boat. A kid that is definitely from the Holy Land.
Ever since someone called Imu a yandere I've been thinking
what if Dragon got into a relationship with someone while he was away from Imu, someone who can't just be eradicated, maybe they don't know who specifically,or is someone the WG can't fuck with like a yonko or smth
he deserves nice things and Imu deserve to seethe like the little bitch he is and be dumped by a 3rd person(joyboy, lili and now dragon that blob is a chronic fumbler)
I also support Dragon remaining happily single but it being faked that he's dating (or simply giving false impression that what's happening), so Imu seethes over absolutely nothing while Dragon lives his best life.
trying to find a silver lining to the ginny au is harder than spinning gold BUT i found it!Luffy can be bonney's big bro in this au and since his sampling cares for his 'pet' Imu will have to cure her right?
RIGHT?
(Be careful what you wish for...)
Bonney shakes on the floor, sword dropped next to her.
Her entire body is a battleground, a never-ending war between the dark Omen fed to her by the Covenant and the Sapphire Scales threatening to solidify her flesh entirely.
She's alive and will stay that way, but it burns. Burns and aches in her blood down to the marrow of her bones. And on top of that...
A leather boot nudges her in the ribs.
"Get up, girl. Your training's not done yet."
Groaning, Bonney rolls over onto her back to glare up at a particular red-haired face.
"But Shamrock, I did all of the feints you wanted!"
Shamrock looks unimpressed. "And now I desire more. Get up, before I bring your mother into this."
And by bring her mother into this, they both know he means beat a slave for her brat being so disobedient.
Bonney quickly rolls over onto her knees and stands up. "I'm up, I'm up!"
"Good." Shamrock looks her over, a considering glint in his eye.
Bonney knows she shouldn't be impressed by him, or any of the other God Knights, but she finds herself straightening her aged up body in attempts to meet whatever he's looking for.
"Hm, at this rate you might even make a half-decent Knight for the Heir. Now." He nods to the sword on the ground. "Pick that up. Fifty more feints."
"This is revenge for that time I turned Cerberus into a puppy, isn't it?" She groans, leaning over to grab the weapon.
hungry ghost lily or older than despair for the prompt game
In that silver coffin, lies a body. One well preserved and cared for, clearly that of a woman.
Dragon’s heart lurches in his chest. He takes a step back, but no further. Staying in place otherwise.
The woman’s body is wrapped in aged brown bandages, the most visible part being that of gnarled hands crossed over the chest. He sees no face, but that is due to a well shaped death mask over the entirety of the head. Gold and smiling and full of flowing blue hair under a particular crown. A crown that seems almost familiar, for some reason, a crown that Dragon knows he did not see here.
The shadow rises off of the ground, shaping itself until it is almost the same as the body it overshadows. The biggest difference being there is no face to match the death mask grinning upwards. Promising a peaceful afterlife that did not come to be.
“Lili is not there,” the shadowy figure insists. Gestures at the corpse, then at itself. “Lili is not here. Lili is Dead.”
“If you are not Lili...then who are you?” What are you might be accurate, but the fact that ‘Lili’ is aware enough to make these distinctions...Dragon wants to try back.
A pause. “...I do not know. Something less.”
Something less. He sees. Understands, as much as he wishes he couldn’t. It’s not too different from those ex-slaves who have ‘admitted’ that they’re no longer people, due to the brands on their skin.
There is no hope of convincing this ghost otherwise, not in the heart of their shared prison. Not when he doesn’t know what to say either, about it all.
But what he can do, is keep this ghost company. Make sure she’s not alone. And ask...
“What do you want me to call you, if you don’t want Lili?”
A touch of a hand that feels more like a brush of a chilly breeze than anything else.
How does Imu feel when he realizes Luffy looks a LOT like Joyboy?Even bf he ate his fruit from what we've seen he looked and even sounded like Luffy(his va is Luffy's old va)
Whether Luffy is related to Imu or not, Imu is BLAMING those damn D genes for sure.
