i don’t think anyone but me recognizes all of these characters, but i put too much effort into this to not post it.

I’ve been thinking about Marian’s family lately, so here’s some stuff about her and Cyrus’s parents, Eleanor and Jasper Brawnhammer. Jasper owned the lucrative family mining business, but had to retire early after he got sick with a chronic illness. Eleanor, who was very strict and invested in the success of the business, pressured a 19-year-old Marian to take her father’s place as CEO right away, not caring that Marian neither wanted to nor was prepared to. Marian ended up running away to join a monastary, and Cyrus took over the business instead, although he left most of the actual responsibilities to their uncle Gorrovich.

Marian and Cyrus both still have good relationships with their ailing father, but avoid their mother whenever possible. Eleanor has no idea why and never considers that it might be because she’s a mean, miserable person.

some facts:

1. Marian can lift just about anybody

2. Marian is much heavier than she looks, Dariyah is the only one strong enough to lift her

3. I’m very bad at height consistency

Some important Gauntlet characters who I haven’t expounded on much, along with some info on the guild that the story is named after. As you can tell, I struggled with creating a concrete mission statement for it. It’s just kind of a group that exists to incentivize people to go on adventures for the greater good. ID below, because I need to do that more and also my handwriting is awful

Below this are two character portraits. On the left is Cyrus Brawnhammer, a dwarf man with a short beard and shoulder-length hair, wearing a suit and tie. Below him is his name and some information: “Spokesperson and benefactor, in charge of representing the guild and giving out missions”. Side note: he is the guild’s main financial backer, coming from an extremely wealthy family.

On the right is Maia Aldeus, a drow woman with short hair and glasses, wearing a collared shirt and floor-length skirt, and looking exasperated. She is also labeled with her name and some info: “Medic and combat trainer, in charge of both teaching people to fight and treating their injuries”. Side note: she’s a high-level cleric, and much tougher than she looks.

The second image is two more character portraits. On the left is Credence Drake, a human man with short hair and small spectacles, wearing a high-collared shirt and long coat, and holding a book and pen. His info says: “Inventor and record keeper; in charge of all the Gauntlet’s information and unique technology/magic items”. Side note: he’s an artificer and can be highly judgemental.

On the right is a halfling woman with long hair and her face half hidden in a hood she wears, which attaches to a cloak with (what are supposed to be) ornate designs on it. She is labeled simply “Allora”, and her expression is pensive and melancholy. Her info is: “Leader and the only one who knows the Gauntlet’s true, full purpose. Extremely secretive, only confides in Cyrus”. Side note: aside from the other Gauntlet leaders, no one ever really sees Allora in person. Some lower-ranking members don’t even know she exists.
