Bohemia Regent / Marks & Spencer Czech Pilsner Lager (Picked up at a M&S Food in London). A 2 of 4. This is a beer -- it is a bit sweeter and more forward with the caramel malt than I was expecting. It delivers a reasonably nice balance and clean finish, and the slight malt complexity is a nice surprise.

Alright meow, hand over your license and registration. Your registration? Hurry up meow. Is there something funny here boy? Then why are you laughing mister Larry Johnson? Alright meow, where were we? Am I saying meow? Don’t think boy, meow do you know how fast you were going? Meow what is so damn funny? Do I look like a cat to you boy? Am I jumping around all nimbly bimbly from tree to tree? Am I drinking milk from a saucer? Do you see me eating mice? You stop laughing right meow! Meow, I’m going to have to give you a ticket on this one. No buts meow, It’s the law. Not so funny meow, is it? MEOW!

Thanks for sitting through one of my favorite parts of Super Troopers, now let me reward you with an accurate description of this beer: It looks like pee. That’s right, I’ve seen plenty of hazy IPAs but never before have I seen a hazy pils but now that I have I feel like I don’t want to go back to the old way. Oh wait, did I mention I gave this a 9? If you don’t know how to fucking read the top part of the review let me say it one more time. A PILSNER GOT A 9. I never thought I’d see this day because I’m not usually crazy about the style but KCBC and Finback absolutely killed it with this one. A nice light melon and lemon flavor starts things off with a nice balance of bitter and sweet before some classic pilsner flavors play second fiddle to more of those delicious melon flavors before some cantaloupe and sweetness mix in with some faint floral hops to wrap things up. I’m a huge fan of this beer and if you ever get the chance to pick this up I’d highly highly recommend it because this is probably the best of the style I’ve ever tasted. I honestly don’t give a shit what level you are at in your drinking expeditions because this is a must drink so get your ass out there and pick it up. Enjoy!

Outdoor / Fieldwork Brewing (Berkley, CA) 普段は同ブルワリーのパブでしか飲めないビールが繋がっていた。このブルワリーの創業者であるAlex氏は元々Modern Timesにおり、Ballast Pointのインドラクニンドラのレシピを考案した人物でもあるらしい。その関係でこちらにビールが繋がったそうだ。たいへん、たいへんクリアなアピアランスで実に見た目から美味しそう。アロマにはピルスナーモルトのほかにほのかなジューシーなホップアロマがある。非常にクリスプな仕上がりで、ボディは軽い。ものすごくよくできたボヘミアンピルスナーだと思う。

ベイピルスナー / Bay Brewing Yokohama (Yokohama, Japan) 名作、ベイピルスナー。戸塚新工場における第二バッチ。穏やかなモルトとラガーイーストのアロマ、口に含むと広がるモルティかつライトなフレーバー。少し濁ったアピアランスは無濾過のため。苦味はあるが飲んだ瞬間の甘さによってその印象は淘汰される。ボディは当然のことながら軽い。すこし甘味とボディが第一バッチに比べて強くなっている印象を受ける。
