Character doodles!
D&D character based off Alan Wake???
And I don’t just mean Alan but like the whole thing. A wife and husband warlock/patron duo which the husband is stuck in another plane and the wife channels them through their “pact” aka their wedding vows and rings and they’re working in their respective planes to get the husband back
But also like chuck Scratch in there! The wife believes it’s her husband but maybe something else has hijacked her husband???
I think it could be a fun concept!!
Fantasy concept idea: An abandoned castle infested with monsters, but rumors abound of a beautiful, long-lost princess sleeping within only to be awakened with a true love's kiss, fairy-tale style...
...And then it turns out that the "princess" is actually a very clever Mimic that oversees the whole operation and finishes off any adventurers that actually make it to them before divvying up the loot with the rest of the monsters in the castle.
D&D character concept: reflavor a Simic Hybrid with climb speed and extra limbs as an alternate form of Drider. For whatever story based reason the curse left you in a still mostly humanoid form instead of the “spidertaur” standard, but you’re still very much a Drider and regarded as much by Drow society.
Consider Astral Self Monk, Swarm Keeper Ranger, or Underdark Land Druid (or some combination there of) for a flavor-matching set of abilities.
Low key working on a Rogue’s centric D&D campaign. It’s slow going though because we’re new to DMing (second attempt). Can’t decide if it’s gonna be us pre-making the characters like how it’s typically done in One-Shots (we might start with a few One-Shots anyway) or have people make their own. Depends if people are more interested in playing the actual characters or just interacting with them as NPCs.
D&D session concept: you and your party arrive at a bustling metropolitan city with a complex political structure, and you begin hearing rumors about a mysterious newcomer whose been influencing the courts recently, and there’s concern that she’s trying to lead the city down a very dark path.
so you all put your court detective hats on and gather information, sneak/disguise your way into a few lavish parties, and eventually discover the culprit: an elven woman who has a body that Just Won’t Quit and a voice that can quite literally enthrall anyone who listens. you end up tracking her down to a top-notch courtier’s home, where you find servants bustling around, tending to the needs of the mysterious woman. eventually, you find her in the master bedroom, lounging around in comfortable attire as the courtier himself is fanning her and refilling her glass of wine every so often. she sees you and grins. “oh? we have visitors.”
the courtier tries to fight the party to protect his master, and once you either dispell the charm or knock him unconscious / kill him, you get to fight Her.
at some point, she breaks out into song, and her voice is so beautiful, so enrapturing that you all have to fight to break free from its control, lest you become charmed by her and begin attacking your own allies. you finally manage to bring her down, but presumably it’s a very tough fight, and her last words stick in your mind:
“You may have lovers wherever you roam,” she says weakly. “But sooner or later we all sleep alone.”
that’s when the music starts playing in real life, and it suddenly dawns on everyone that you and your party just killed Cher.
D&d concept
2 lvl 5 bards have a roast off/rap battle. All attacks automatically hit. They can only use vicious mockery. Damage is determined by how good the roast/rap is. Whoever knocks out the opponent first wins.
Rules:
Resistance/immunity/weakness to is not applied
If you use any other spell or attack your opponent physically, you're disqualified
Opponents have the same amount of health. (Maybe have a "roast health" or something of the like?)
Damage is determined by other players, dm, or both.
The roaster/roastie can both give their opinions of how much it does (up to dm's discretion).
Damage can be determined by average rating of all involved, but ultimately decided by the dm.
Additional rules can be added as needed
