i hate brands so much. what is better abt a rolex as opposed to idk, like a $200 watch u could find in kohl’s or something? u could argue: “dee, its the life/sustainability of one!”, but what celebrity only has one watch? or one pair of shoes? or one handbag? theyre not buying it for sustainability—thats a middle + lower class mentality—theyre buying it for the name. capitalism is a fucking disease, brand names feed off of bandwagon propaganda. are u buying brand name items for ur self esteem? or are u purchasing it because u genuinely enjoy it and/or for the quality? “buy this to fill the void in ur life!!” is part of how capitalism works. and big names like gucci and louis vuitton and chanel using this harmful marketing strategy (that some of my friends use their entire paychecks to purchase!) isnt talked about enough. if ur gonna be #woke and advocate against capitalist ideology, dont be selective.

in addition to my semi hiatus because of college (😔) i’ll be in north carolina until the 22nd. i’ll have my laptop with me, but i probably won’t be on tumblr much so this blog will run on a queue (like it has been for the last week) and i won’t be responding to asks. i’ll be posting gifs of svt’s comeback on monday but that’s about it. by the time you’ll see this i’ll be on a plane! have a nice weekend everybody.
