A Falafel Fairytale
Once upon a time two dutch princesses where invited to taste the fabled Durum Falafel in the beloved neighbourhood Vesterbronx in the popular restaurant ’Dünyam Shawarma House’ on Istedgade. The two royalties where exited, since they had never before visited this eatery and did not know what to expect.
Falafel4ever awaited them on Istedgade and soon they entered a small restaurant with a very bright light shining from the ceiling. Even from a whole day in the sun their sensitive eyes had to adjust before they could fully take in the impression of this unexplored place. They met their first obstacle when they had to place their order, but luckily this was easily overcome, the sign was easy to decode. This special day the noble visitors wouldn’t accept the regular dürum – a real dutch princess needs both homemade bread, homemade falafel and homemade hummus before she will at all care to taste.
The next challenge on their journey came when their highly sensitive buttocks where looking for comfortable seating. At first they couln’t find suitable surroundings to devour their freshmade rolls. Suddenly in the distant a sign came visible for the eyes of the two princesses – VIP it said.
Soon a tiny compartment with a mystical, almost creepy, wall decoration, reminding them of some weird mixture between a slaughter house and a badly painted children's room, appeared before their eyes.
In the little cave-like room they found 3 high chairs placed along a bar table. After some struggle accepting the poor comfort of the stools; ”the table is too high!” ”the chair have no backrests!”, the friendly shawarma-dude claimed that their rolls were ready.
”uhm! What a truly delicious falafel! Nice and crunchy – really homemade! Moist – not too dry!” One princess exclaimed soon after the first bite.”And the bread is very tasteful! A little salty – just as a Princess prefer!” the other princess quickly proclaimed. ”But a Princess needs her garlic! I cannot even taste a hint in this vague sauce!” the two princesses cried both at once. ”But I must admit” one Princess added, ”this hummus is worth the 5 kroner extra!”.
Before the two young and beautiful princesses went on their big journey, they had both promised their farther, the King, to ferret out a decent man to marry. But this third and last challenge seemed for the two refined royalties impossible to cope. ”Many men might have visited this place tonight – but I couldn’t marry a single one of them, if so I had to live in solitude to the end of my days!” one Princess sobbed wistfully. ”I believe even the prettiest Prince would appear as a frog in this awful light! And even the most flattering words would turn into awkward silence since no music is playing for my ears!”
The two Princesses finished their roll with great pleasure and went home to tell their farther, the King, that if he would fully satisfy their royal taste buds with an extravagant experience and find a suitable Prince for his beloved daughters he would have to sent them elsewhere next time. And the two princesses lived happily ever after.
