Apparently, I’ve now come full circle in fandom life. I’ve started doodling Yu Yu Hakusho fanart, and now, thanks to @sinningtree (with an assist from @snarkyauthor) and the wonders of @kurameshii ‘s archive and artwork… I’m writing a short fanfic, too.

Life is funny.

So one of the folks I supervise needed to pay her car payment yesterday. And checks haven’t arrived. (Direct deposits went through Friday. Sunday is payday. Check should be here by Monday.)

We are talking mom and preschool teacher. So she doesn’t make a liveable wage. Husband pays rent with his check she gets car with hers. I was born in what has become one of the most expensive areas of the country. She is below the poverty line for our county. I am as well, but don’t have kids to provide for.

I am saving for a vacation in October. Haven’t be doing a good job. So I took two house sitting gigs, a recent babysitting gig, and was able to put all of that directly into savings. I’ve been blessed with people who have helped me out in life, and my family raised a titty sucking do-gooder. So of course, I’m gonna be the most understanding supervisor ever and come to the rescue. Because she will deposit the check tomorrow, and probably be able to pay me back by Tuesday. No problem.

No sooner does the Venmo go through than I learn from someone else that this woman has borrowed money from two other teachers and not paid them back. I may well be out $600.

I don’t think at this point that it’s intentional. This area is expensive af. I am the not great at budgeting so I get it when people don’t budget well.

I praying that because I her supervisor, and because I told her it was for my rent that she will get it back to me right away, but I may well never see it again despite her best intentions.

So, yeah, don’t loan money you can’t afford to give. I know this; the universe just reminded me. I figured I would remind you.

Help other people, yes, after you make sure you are taking care of yourself first.

It is 2AM in my part of the world, and thus Aromantic Spectrum Awareness Week 2022 has officially begun! With that, I offer a new aro headcanon (probably one that already exists, but ah well sjjdjdkdk):

So, Lenny and Carl from The Simpsons, right? They’re often headcanoned as being a gay couple. Which is totally valid and I support it! But consider this as well: They are both aro and in a QPR. It just makes sense to me because, while there have been many jokes and I guess “hints” throughout the series that they’re romantically involved, the nature of their relationship is pretty vague and more often than not, it’s portrayed as a very VERY strong friendship—a “bromance” as one may call it. Their relationship frequently blurs the lines between platonic and romantic, which is the very nature of a QPR!

But what do I know? I’m just an autistic gay-angled aroace with internet access shdjdjdkdkdk I just thought I’d throw my silly headcanon out there!
