It came as a matter of shellshock that Clear could both be a smooth-talker and utterly dense, but sometimes, the fates were kind. The pair of them lay upon a grassy bluff overlooking the stars after another day spent with Ranger-ly duties, or--that had been more of Enola's business. Clear was mostly just there to tag along for the ride because it was fun, and that was something he genuinely enjoyed doing. Excitement, thrill-chasing, adrenalizing: anything of the sort was his calling card.
