5. Do you have an idea for a story you don’t feel you can write at this current time? (Whether it be because life is busy right now, you need to do more research, etc.) 7. Favorite writers? Have they influenced you at all?
5. I was starting to write a Catradora post-canon first time fic before Hail Mary happened and channeled my creative energies in a totally different direction, and I had an idea for a one shot where they go up to HP’s ship and find Catra’s old clothes and mask, a good old trauma and hurt/comfort and introspection piece. I do plan to eventually write both but ugh I have way too many fics in my plate right now.
7. I don’t really latch onto writers as faves so much as the stories and characters they create. But I definitely learned some valuable tools for how to effectively use first-person from Suzanne Collins; The Hunger Games wouldn’t have been nearly as good in third person because Katniss’s narration style is so suited to her personality and it adds a lot between the lines. Tbh a lot of the most valuable stuff I learned was from District 7 Profanity, my beta in the THG fandom and a dear friend. She really helped me hone my craft, passing along stuff she was learning and offering really great stylistic suggestions. And in terms of fanfic she’s one of my favorite writers, so does that count?
