sypnosis: as a college student, you never really tended to focus on your surroundings as much, only paying attention to your studies and nothing more. One day however, you notice a classmate of yours in the library, looking a bit down. you go check on him, finally finding out what the reason was…

reticent!reader who stretches their arms, after dropping their pencil from writing so much during their lecture. Knowing they were stress free, planting a smile across their face as they’ve completed each and everyone of their assignments.
reticent!reader who packs up all their things, ready to bolt out the lecture room doors, rushing to get a snack because they were so hungry, as their stomach was basically scolding them. They drop by the schools old and rusty vending machine to get a quick snack and drink, before going to the library to study for the last class of the day. the snack was a nice packaged sushi roll, and the drink was a cold and fresh milkis. two things they prayed for in that very moment.
reticent!reader who finally enters the silent library, taking in the nice aroma of Vanilla beans mixed with the woodsy smell from the books. They admired the aura of the setting, and how it’s walls comforted them. Ready to get the study session over, they quickly rush to their favorite spot, hoping no one had taken it. It was in a little area near the computers, huddled by comfy love seats, along with boho pillows.
classmate!felix who notices your little sprint over to the spot, looking at the way you were so focused, and so determined. He then simply watches as you happily plop down on a yellow bean bag, watching the prettiest most genuine smile appear on your lips. In his mind, he admired the way you looked so happy just by sitting on a bean bag, even making a faint smile appear on his saddend face. but it wasn’t long before his reality sunk back in. He looked to the cake sitting in front of him, as he so dearly wished that he had at least one person to share it. Today was his birthday, but yet no one even cared one bit to even at the least say happy birthday. His heart was yearning… but he tried his very hardest to make the best of it.
reticent!reader who begins to pull out their stuff, when they take one glance across the library, seeing their classmate who looks down sadly at the cake in front of him… as his eyes began to tear. Immediately, they set their stuff back down, making their way over. Normally, they wouldn’t do such a thing like this, but when it came to anyone who was sad or feeling down, they just had to drop everything they were doing in order to comfort that person. They knew what it was like to be upset, and they wouldn’t ever want anyone else to feel that way.
classmate!felix who notices you out of the corner of his eyes, begin to avert his eyes from their direction, trying not to let them see his watered and weary eyes. He didn’t like the fact that he was being vulnerable right now… but he’s held in so much for so long, it began to take a toll on him.
reticent!reader who pulls out a chair next to the male, sitting down soflty. “Hey, is everything okay?” they coo, hoping they wouldn’t get shut down, or even worse- told off. They were such a sincere person, and it wouldn’t sit right with them if they continued to study knowing one of their classmates was having a hard time.
classmate!felix who responds, “Y-yeah, everythings fine. i apologize if i bothered you—” but quickly gets cut off by your repsonse.
reticent!reader who reassures, “no- no, you didn’t bother me, calm down. I just wanted to make sure your okay.” you try to say with in the most respectful way. Looking down at the cake, wanting to know what it was for, they question “Celebratory cake?”
classmate!felix who goes quiet for a second, then answers. “No… it’s my birthday.” he admits sadly, staring at the beautiful cake that he bought for himself. He knew he had to study, so he had no choice but to bring it here, to the library.
reticent!reader who’s heart begins to ache hearing the sadness in his voice. “Oh- Happy birthday!” they cheered, waving their hands softly. a small “Thank you” leaves the males lips, as his head was being placed on the top part of his palms. unfortunelty, it wasn’t enough to get a smile.. so they knew now, they just had to cheer him up. they didn’t care whether it costed a study session, or even two…
“Lee Felix right?” you inquire, a small smile appearing on your face. the males eyes never the top of the cake, as he nodded in agreement. with no hesitation, only using words from your heart, you make a proposal. “How about this, after we eat this beautiful cake- I say we because I can’t let you eat this alone, we go to pick you outa gift, and then we go out to eat, my treat.” your smile big and wide, as your eyes look to him determined for a yes. the male was a bit hesitent at first, but he knew deep down, he had nothing to lose. and with the softest smile begining to glow on his sweet face, he nods his head in agreement. “thank you…” he trails off, not knowing your name. he hated that he didn’t know it, scolding himself internally, but you found it quite okay. if you didn’t take the oppertunity to learn your classmates names, even though you’d probably never talk yo them, you’d be stuck the same way. so you understood. “Y/n.” you smile gracefully. “Nice to actually meet you y/n, I appreciate this… and you.” the male bows quickly, smiling to himself.

Since that very moment, exactly 3 years have passed. you graduated with flying colors, never feeling so acomplished in life. your dreams came true, and you were proud. you found a nice apartment on the beach, that was close to your new job. the one you had spent countless nights studying for, losing sleep, not eating, and even dodging new potential friendships for. in the end though, it was definitely worth it.
Smiling from ear to ear, you grab a shopping bag placing it on the counter. You giggle to yourself taking the item it was carrying out of the bag, which was a round chocolate cake with creme icing. you place it on the counter gently, knowing that if you ruined it you were going to have an episode. “Perfect, now all I need is candles.” you coo, digging in your kitchen drew for the perfect ones you had bought a day earlier. after finding them and placing them on the cake, you stood at the island waiting to hear-

You quickly duck under the counter without hesitation, quietly chuckling to yourself. As a few seconds go by, you hear those familiar footsteps getting closer and closer… until you pop out from behind the counter. “Happy Birthday lixie!” you cheer, jumping up and down. Felix then jumps back, covering his face from the sudden surpise. “Oh my god- !” he chuckles shockingly, his eyes wide. you giggle, wrapping your squishy arms softly around his fram, kissing his cheek. He returns a smile, kissing your cheek, followed by another one to your lips. His eyes then dart to the beautiful cake before him, as his gaze softens. “Is this for me?” he looks at you, his lips curling into a grin. “It is my love, now- lets light these cadles up, yeah?” you boop his nose, pulling the lighter out of your pocket. You hold the lighter to the candles, feeling felix’s fram hover behind you. his hand gently slides up yours, holding your hand that was softly holding the candle. Once the candles were lit, you looked back at him, begining to sing him happy birthday.
after he made his wish, he blew out his candle, taking you into a bear hug. in his embrace, you can’t help but to melt within his touch. you loved everything about him, from his scent, to his prescence, to even the way he so admiringly appreciated you. Thinking back to when you first met, you couldn’t thank god enough for that moment. the male then pulls away, cupping your face in his soft hands. “Thank you angel.” he coos, a smile so genuine on his pretty face. “Your welcome Lee felix.” you smile back, just before giving him the sweetest kiss. You then back away, clapping your hand together.
“Now- lets eat this cake so we can get your gift and go eat dinner!” you chimed, begining to cut the cake. the male then wraps his arms around your waist softly, so soft that you didn’t even notice at first. His head nuzzles on the back of your neck, making soft kisses on it.
“I love you so much.” the male coos sweetly, making your heart ache. “I love you more lixie.” you smile.
