Drabbles - Deku as a Dad (bc it has been stuck in my head gd)
So he's definitely the kind of parent who holds his kid in one arm while he does literally anything else with the other. Maybe he's picking up the toys scattered around the floor, or digging in the couch for the TV remote, or making dinner, or brushing his teeth, literally anything. He just loves his kid so much and can't ever say no to them especially when they want cuddles so he just compromises by carrying them around with him constantly.
The bigger they get the more creative he gets, maybe they're like two and he just holds them under his arm like a football so they giggle really loud while he walks around the kitchen. Maybe they're like five and he sets them on his shoulders and they use his hair like little reins to guide him around the house while he does some chores. Maybe they're like eight and getting bigger so he throws them over his shoulder and they beat on his back and giggle and holler at him until he puts them down.
He's definitely really close with his kid, empathizing and always being a shoulder. He would also pound someone into the ground for them but he tries to teach pacifism first. He can relate to all their struggles and sees so much of himself in them because they're probably a lil sensitive bean just like he is and he's super quick to wipe their tears and help them feel better and make everything into a learning experience so they keep getting stronger and smarter.
Oh he's also still a lil bit of a crybaby and every single milestone makes him burst into tears, though he is trying to be a bit less emotional so he doesn't worry the kid or his partner (you, duh). But he definitely needs lots of emotional support because like the first time his kid said "dada" he started crying all over the place and you had to comfort him, kissing his forehead and brushing through his hair with your fingers while he babbled about how smart the kid is and how proud he is even though they're still a baby. And oh my god the first time they walked? Oh boy, this man literally picked you up to bring you into the room to see the moment with him and the sheer joy on his face and the little tears welling up in his eyes as he tried to find his phone or the camera.
The kid adores you both, obviously, and every time you tuck them in for bed they say "I love you" and even though it's literally every night Izuku still gets a little watery eyed about it. He'll lay in bed with you and just hold you really tight and go on and on about how you guys are such great parents and he loves that little bean so much and it makes him feel like his heart could explode.
ugh... this has been on my mind for days and I can't even tell if I'm just baby crazy or deku crazy at this point
