on parents. i had two. a mom and a dad. mom was in the army. dad was a farmer like his dad and his dad's dad. (SO many goddamn farmers on the morrison side of things.) we lived on land that had been in his family for a very long time, and he was proud of it. i don't remember his name, which is sad. i think my mother had a masculine name? it might have been something like martie or charlie. tommie maybe. it ended with an -ie sound. she took his last name, so we were all morrisons. don't remember her maiden name. mom was blonde, dad was a brunette. i was a carbon copy of my father but ended up going blonde for fun and because i wanted to look SOMETHING like my mother. my father didn't understand why i did SEP. i don't think he wanted me to enlist at all. he knew he couldn't stop me, but he didn't want me in the military. he didn't want me put under the syringe for SEP, especially. don't think he wanted his son hurt. i don't remember anything else, but i remember i really loved them! there was nothing like coming home for any holiday and having your mother bear hug you as soon as you got the screen door open
