• When Bradley cut off Maverick he had a son very shortly after that and Bradley wanted to name him after his dad
• But Bradley soon came to the realization that, Maverick was just as much or even more as a dad to him as well, so he went with the name "Mitchell Nick Bradshaw"
• Now post Top Gun Maverick/mission Mav found out about the kid (from going through photo albums on Bradley's phone but still) and Of course Mav was bouncing off the walls about it. Mav was asking what his name was and Bradley went, "Oh He's named after my dad," without thinking about it
• Mav goes "So his name is Nick?" Making Bradley really embarrassed about it and everything so he just nods his head and goes, "Yep...Nick, his name is Nick" So that's what Mav referred to Mitchell as "Nick" for months on end and Bradley just went along with it nodding his head along
• Finally Mav got to meet Nick and he goes, "You're the Nick I've been hearing about right?" and 'Nick' says confusion "Nick is my middle name actually"
• This confuses Mav and he asks, "I thought you were named after your Grandpa?"
• 'Nick' nod and says, "Yeah I am, my name is Mitchell"
• This makes Mav sit there and wonder who in Bradley's family is named Mitchell, then it hits him...his last name is Mitchell
• When Mav went home that night he cried knowing that Bradley's son was named after him and Bradley also saw him as a dad as well
• Bonus If Iceman is still alive: Mav is sobbing into Ice's should saying, "baby Goose doesn't hate me!" and Ice is just patting his shoulder like, "It's alright"
N: ignore that Mother’s Day is a Sunday, posting this Friday so Mother’s Day is now on a Friday. Also early Happy Mother’s Day 💖

It was Friday around noon, Bradley had had a half day and had therefore chosen to celebrate Mother’s Day with a few surprises for his wife. But not before going to his own moms grave and laying flowers, any holiday without his parents were bad but reminding himself that he can still celebrate his mom even if she isn’t with him helps.
Bradley picked up his and Y/n two kids from school after wards. Maya showed the card she had made for Y/n and Mason showed the drawing he’d done in kindergarten. The three went to a store where they bought Y/n favourite snacks and some flowers.
Once they got home Y/n was in her office doing some work and Maya and Mason ran off to find her while Bradley put the flowers in some water. As Maya, Mason and Y/n walk into the kitchen Mason yells, “We bought flowers because it’s mommas day!”
“That’s right baby, and the flowers are beautiful.” Y/n said as she ruffled Masons hair.
Maya handed her mom a basket with her favourite snacks and drinks, as well as the card she made at school.
Later that day the family was laying on the couch watching some show the kids had picked out, and Y/n leaned over, giving Bradley a kiss, “Thank you.”
“For what?” “For you, them, for making me the luckiest woman in the world.”
Bradley rested his head on top of hers as she went back to watching tv, he kissed the top of her head softly before whispering, “Think we’re both pretty lucky.”
A/N: yes I have a lot of wips, no this was not one of them. Hehe woops
Enjoy!
"Babe, seriously, is that the only thing coming out of his mouth?" Bradley sighed in frustration at the sight of his son. Oh, it was that type of day.
Yup, little Nick learned that you reacted when he said "mama" and has been saying it ever since, to everything and everyone. And when home you got an extended concert of "mama mama mama mamaaaaa". For you it was funny, but Bradley's pride got hurt Nick still wasn't saying any form of 'daddy'. And just like that mister grumpy chicken was back and sulking around the house.
"Earth to Bradley! The man is 14 months old, you know he even calls Mav 'mama'. And Penny, oh and even the lady from the bakery. So for the moment you're 'mama' too."
Bradley made himself smaller to be at eye level with Nick. "My sweet little boy, daddy's sorry, but you would make daddy's day a lot better if you would say 'daddy' for me, or 'dada', I could live with that too, please?"
"Honey, I seriously doubt your cute puppy eyes will work with Nick. You know his are cuter." Even Nick agreed with a "Hehe" and continued babbling in his own language.
"It was worth to try," Bradley smiled softly, "if you don't mind I'm going to the grocery store, can you help me with the list babe?"
"Of course, here you go. And can you bring my Bradley back?" This time it was you showing off your puppy eyes, in hope to make a little smile appear on your husband's face and it worked.
"Thank you for understanding, I'll try to find him." He said before giving you a small kiss.
"Well, actually thank you, now I don't have to go to the grocery store tomorrow, extra play time with Nick. Take your time, I know it helps to cool down after a heavy day."
"See you later babe and you, be nice to mommy, okay?" But Nick was still strolling around with his walker like a little madman guarding the house.
You had this feeling, so you took your phone and put the camera on. Mostly your gut feeling was right and Nick was about to do something funny. You had just touched the button to start filming when it happened.
"Dada? Dadaaaaa! Dada. Dadaaaaa?" Nick was saying while pointing to the door. Oh yes he did, and you were filming. The moment you stopped filming you made a little squeal, startling your son.
"I'm so proud of you little big man, and dada too, I will text dada immediately."
You: right after you left <attached video>
You heard Bradley's car arrive 30 minutes later and he was humming, Bradley was back, he left mister grumpy chicken behind.
"Hi babe, I'm back," he gave you a quick kiss on the forehead before putting the groceries on the counter top, "and hello to you too little man. You made dada's very good." And ruffled through Nick's hair, making him babble something at the action.
"Mama mama, waaaaaah." Nick babbled to his father.
"You little rascal, you're lucky I love you."
As soon as Bradley was around the corner to put the last things away Nick did it again. "Dada." Resulting in you and Bradley laughing at the little goofball. Bradley came crawling from around the corner going straight to Nick to start tickling him.
"This time I heard it!" Bradley laughed with Nick. You joined them on the ground to help let Nick win the little tickling contest.
Mark my word Hangster's kid's first word would be Tom Kazansky like that baby Boo in Monster Inc. movie that yells "MIKE WAZOWSKI" every time the cyclop shortie comes up.
It was always hard saying goodbye, not knowing when Dad would get back.
So while he was home, you all tried to make the most of it as a family. Movie nights, take out, games. Anything where your family was together and where none of you felt left out.
So when Bradley found out he was gonna be home for Christmas this year, he told his wife with the biggest grin.
And that was how you and Bradley came up with the perfect idea for Christmas this year.
Christmas gifts were bought everytime you went to a store, the decorations were up in November. And everyday of December until the 24th, Bradley and you would read Christmas stories as bedtime stories.
This year you were going all out, getting the entire extended family together for Christmas. Celebrating as the one big happy family you were.
The morning of Christmas, there was hot chocolate, ribbons and wrapping on the floor. And a whole bunch of happy kids, which meant happy parents.
