He found out he was trans quite young! He was, maybe, ten or eleven when he found that being in a girl’s body and being referred to as a girl was not something he wanted. He was, at first, ashamed of his queerness and hid it from his parents—he didn’t want them to think any less of him, so he hid it.
When he came out to his parents, it was one of the most nerve-wracking things he’s ever done. He cried as he came out because he was just so afraid of being rejected by his parents. Luckily, his parents were super supportive and helped him to feel more comfortable in his body; his father got him a proper binder (as before Daraku was binding with ace bandages (very unsafe! Do not bind with Ace Bandages!)), and his mother helped Daraku to find a hairstyle that wasn’t too feminine and helped with dysphoria.
Daraku got top surgery at twenty, his parents helped fund it as well as his partners (Kurai and Yuki). He had tons of top dysphoria and would often spend too long in his binder (don’t do this! This can lead to problems breathing, bruised/broken ribs, etc. It’s very unsafe!) which led to a few health complications that he has since, luckily, healed from. He doesn’t get much (if any) bottom dysphoria, so he doesn’t plan to get bottom surgery.
He cares a lot about trans rights and trans kids, so when Kagekao came out to him about being transgender FtM, he did all he could to ensure that xe had very little dysphoria and if xe did, he’d do all that he could to help. Also, Daraku paid for Kagekao’s top surgery.
