The collage about U,
Mixed media collage on a plastic panel, 30 x 30 cm.
The Golden Era,
mixed-media collage,
Do you remember Nicolae Ceausescu? He was the last leader of communist Romania (between 1965-1989) and in that Golden Era (idem!), the Romanians don't have anything to buy (it was a starvation period, for sure), they cannot speak against the regime, they cannot travel abroad and so on! As an homage (sic!) dedicated to his memory (I'm more than sure that he and his odious wife are in hell now, forever!) I've created this collage whit a lot of English and German inscriptions, languages who are forbidden in that era, they were "capitalist" languages, right?! Damn you, beast!
The S series.
Mixed-media collages on a special surface (a mix of fabric and paper named ozalit, a vintage chemical method from the ‘60 Th to imprint something, an original blueprint of the plans of my town in this case). In Romanian, Dada is a double affirmation, something like yesyes, very often repeated by the Romanians in their discussions. So, I’ve created a series of three collages with an S (yes) on them, a triple affirmation! Acrylic paints, metallic contour, various fragments of illustrations...
Red Nostalgia, printmaking, 50 x 80 centimeters,
I've wished to create another special world - you know, this is my obsession with a world where the artists are respected, the arts (any form of art) are every day on the stage, the universe is peaceful, serene and beautiful and so on. I've combined digital painting with some vector elements, special mail art fonts (from angelwerks portal - thanks a lot Andy, thanks a lot Taylor!), some thoughts that I have about the muses, different lights from the Moon, a special perfume _ you have to smell the screen from a very small distance, it's discreet...
Dadaist Composition No,
A small mixed media collage on a small wooden panel added to a large mixed media collage also on a wooden panel; I've imagined a peaceful world for some characters who believe in peace, serendipity, a better future for everyone and so on... There are quotes, painted with two different stencils/patterns, quotes about the faith, gods, angels and happiness! The composition was made from different materials (old pictures and old pages from a cultural magazine) covered with acrylic paint, some colored sprays, crayons and markers, some round felt pieces, etc.
I have a dilemma, 30 x 40 cm.,
Do you remember the great European revolution from 1848? About the humanitarian values and humans rights, equality, and equity and freedom and... So, remembering this, I have a dilemma - were those requests respected today? I'm afraid that we aren't able to recognize what unbalanced world we built in the last 272 years, I mean from 1848 till 2020, right?
Palimpsest, 1863, 30 x 40 cm.,
Layers over layers over layers of meanings, some very old photographies, still solid antique walls, a brown smile, like a colorful dream, different verses from an unknown poetry - this is the recipe, nothing more, nothing less...
