Hey guys! I am back to do the Klaine Advent 2018 Challenge! This year instead of doing drabbles I am planning to write a AU multi-chapter fic! I already have the main concept of the story in my head so I will do my best to fit in the words of the day! They will probably be more like little tidbits unless I’m super inspired by them. But, I am so excited to write this fic and I hope you all enjoy! 

Summary: Kurt is a single father just trying to make it through the Christmas season. However, when he meets, celebrity, Blaine Anderson, his world is turned upside down. If one thing is for sure, this Christmas season will change both of their lives forever.

Christmas music filled the apartment of Kurt Hummel and his five-year-old daughter, Clara. It was December 1st and that meant one thing. It was time to get ready for Christmas! They had even invited Kurt’s best friend and Clara’s godmother, Rachel over to join in on the Christmas fun.

“Daddy, do we have any more ornaments?” five year old, Clara asked as she bounced happily around the living room.

“Just a few more honey,” Kurt replied. “I think we’ve just about covered this tree,” he added with a laugh. Their Christmas tree was filled with ornaments of all kinds and this year, Clara had insisted on multi-colored lights and red and gold tinsel. It was quite gaudy if Kurt was being honest but he’d do anything to make his little girl happy.

“Here Clara, we’ve still got the star. You can place it on top of the tree.” Rachel said as she held the golden star out to the little girl. Clara’s face lit up as she ran over to her aunt.

“Daddy! Daddy! Lift me up!” She squealed. Kurt grinned at his daughter and lifted the little girl up onto his shoulders. He walked closer to the tree and Clara reached as far as she could until the bottom of the tree topper connected with the top of the tree.

“There! Perfect!” Rachel said. Kurt lifted Clara from his shoulders and placed her back on the living room floor.

“It’s so pretty!” Clara said. “Daddy, can we watch “Frosty the Snowman” now!” she asked.

“Sure honey, but we can’t stay up too late. You have school tomorrow and I have to be at the hospital pretty early.” Kurt told her.

“Okay. Can we have popcorn and hot chocolate though?” Clara begged. “Please, please, pretty please!” Kurt rolled his eyes. His little girl had him wrapped around her little finger and he simply couldn’t say no.

“Sure.”

“Yay!” Clara exclaimed.

“You find the DVD and Aunt Rachel and I will go get the snacks,” Kurt replied before walking into the kitchen with Rachel following close behind. He grabbed a bag of popcorn and popped it into the microwave. Then he grabbed his tea kettle to begin warming up water for the hot chocolate.

“So, Kurt… have you been talking to anyone lately.” Rachel probed.

“You mean a guy?” Kurt asked with a suspicious look on his face. Rachel was always trying to set him up with someone.  Rachel nodded. “And when would I have time to do that? I’m a single father with a five-year-old and I’m a  nurse working crazy hours. What guy is going to want to come into that?”

“Oh Kurt! You’re just making excuses. I’m sure that there are plenty of guys that would love to go on a date with you. You just won’t give them a chance.”

“That is not true!”

“Prove it!” Rachel retorted before snatching Kurt’s phone off the countertop.

“Rachel, what are you doing?”

“I’m signing you up for Tinder.”

“No! No! Absolutely no!” Kurt said before trying to grab his phone back from Rachel’s hands. To get out of his reach, Rachel ran to the other side of the kitchen. “Rachel, no one meets anyone decent on Tinder. That app is purely a site to find hookups.”

“Would that be so bad?”

“Yes!” Kurt exclaimed. “I am not a hookup and never talk to a guy kind of person. Rachel, please, stop.”

“Too late. Already posted. You’re officially a tinder man.” Rachel replied, finally handing the phone over to Kurt.

“I am deleting this.”

“Just give it a chance. At least look at a few guys.” Rachel pleaded. Kurt sighed and made a face at his friend.

“Fine.”

“Yay!” Rachel squealed before running to Kurt’s side. “Okay, so if you don’t like a guy, you swipe left. And if you do, swipe right.”  The first picture came up.

“Too old,” Kurt said, swiping left.

“Too young.”

“Too hairy.” Kurt grimaced looking at the picture of the man on his phone and swiping left once again. Then the fourth picture appeared. The man had beautiful golden honey brown eyes and curly dark brown hair. He had a beautiful smile and was really quite attractive. He looked somewhat familiar but Kurt couldn’t put his finger on where he had seen the man.

“OH...MY… GOD!” Rachel exclaimed looking at the picture.

“What?”

“That’s my co-star!” Rachel said. Rachel had recently landed the role of Elphaba in a revival show of Wicked. “That’s Blaine Anderson. He’s playing Fiyero.”

“Wait, like Emmy award-winning, Blaine Anderson?” Kurt asked in disbelief.  Rachel nodded. Now, Kurt had figured out where he knew the man from. Blaine had been an up and coming star. He had guest starred on a bunch of shows before landing a lead role in a limited series and winning an Emmy for his work. Kurt had seen an interview where Blaine admitted he had always wanted to be on Broadway so getting the role of Fiyero was like a dream come true.

“I don’t know why I didn’t think of him before.” Rachel said. “He’s so nice and he’s single.”

“He’s also famous,” Kurt said. “There’s no way that a celebrity is going to want to date me.”

“You won’t know that for sure unless you try.” Rachel prompted. She took Kurt’s phone from his hands and looked at the profile.

“Kurt, he already super liked you.” Rachel said in disbelief. “We made this profile like five minutes ago. This is a sign. I’m swiping right.”

“Rachel-!”

“Too late!” She said with a smirk. Kurt looked at his phone and on the screen were both his and Blaine’s pictures. The top read “It’s a Match!” 

“This is going to be a good thing,” Rachel reassured him. “Now come on. We’ve planted the seed and now we wait. Come on, We have a very inpatient five-year-old waiting for us and I personally am ready to see a snowman come to life.” Rachel said. She grabbed the popcorn and headed into the living room, leaving Kurt in the kitchen. He couldn’t stop staring at the screen. Blaine was attractive, but there was no way that he’d actually want to date a single father. Kurt already knew that this Tinder match was as far as this relationship would go...he was sure of it...well pretty sure anyway.

Klaine Fic: Gotta Get Him Out My Hair

Written for Day 5 of Klaine Advent 2017 Prompt: “Example”

Summary: Eliza Hummel-Anderson is experiencing one of the worst things a teenage girl can: A bad hair day. Thankfully, her fathers are here to save the day. Kind of.

“UGH! GOD DAMMIT!”

Almost jumping from the shock of the outburst, Kurt was startled by the grunting and frustrated noises he heard coming from the bathroom. Turning the gas on the stove off and letting the eggs he was cooking sit in the pan, he went to investigate the source of the noise.

Just as he was approaching the bathroom to knock, the door swung open and there stood his daughter, pink in the face and looking positively infuriated.

“Sweetie, what’s wrong?” he asked, surprise on his face.

Eliza pushed past her father and went storming in to the kitchen, Kurt hot on her tail.

“Why did it have to be him?” she demanded, pulling open the cutlery drawer and rummaging around inside.

“I’m sorry sweetie, why did who have to be what?” Kurt asked, puzzled but not overly concerned – this whole situation already indicated a teenage mood swing rather than something serious.

“Dad, that’s who. Why did it have to be dad who gave me his genes?”

That one really stumped Kurt but still, he actually felt rather hurt by her remark.

“Eliza, that’s not exactly very nice of you. What does you having your father’s genes have to do with anything?” he folded his arms, waiting for a response.

Instead, he was met with an exclamation of “AHA!” as Eliza found what she was looking for – a pair of kitchen scissors.

She went to push past him again but this time Kurt caught her shoulder.

“Look, slow down. What’s going on here?”

“I’m so sick of it! It’s this damn hair!”

Kurt was taken aback even more by that one.

“Your hair?”

“Yes papa, my hair,” she said with an irate expression and mocking tone.

“You have a problem with your hair?” Kurt seemed to back off now and deflate a little. “But Eliza, your hair is absolutely beautiful! It’s so long and thick and curly, just like your Da-“

“THAT’S THE PROBLEM!” she cried with a teenagerly grunt as she said it, continuing towards the bathroom.

As Kurt followed her, there was a split second as he mulled over what she was saying and then in an instant, it caught up with him - just as Eliza was bringing the scissors to her hair. Kurt quickly held her wrist and stopped her movement.

“What are you doing?!” he cried, disbelief written on his face and eyes wide as saucers.

“It won’t brush properly! It’s driving me nuts!” she replied.

Kurt considered her for a second. “Sweetie, it can’t be bad enough that you want to cut it all off!”

“Oh, really?” she said sarcastically. Now, she brought her other hand not holding the scissors up to her head. Here, she turned slightly away from Kurt as her hands felt around in her hair and she parted it into two sections. There, sat nestled inside the mane of curls was her wooden hairbrush – except it no longer appeared to have a handle.

Kurt couldn’t help it. He sucked in a sharp breath and seemed to make a weird squeaking noise.

“Ohhh,” he said, not meaning for it to come out quite as high pitched as it did. “That’s… errrr… that’s certainly a pain.”

He was trying so hard not to overreact and panic his daughter, he missed the indignant look she was throwing him as she turned back around.

“It’s a nightmare. I can’t deal with it anymore,” Eliza said, slightly more calm now than she was after her earlier tantrum.

“It’s okay!” Kurt tried for positive this time, “We can fix it!”

He moved forward now, parting her hair himself to take a closer look. Damn, it really was completely tangled in there.

“Honestly sweetheart, if I could get your father to end his hair gel addiction and actually help him style his own hair, I’m sure I can do something with this.”

Kurt grimaced at his own words. He wasn’t exactly this much of a miracle worker.

Just as Eliza was about to make a sarcastic reply, there was the sound of a key in the front door before Blaine made his way inside toward the kitchen, calling out to his husband as he came.

“Kurt! I got the bagels! The store was out of soy milk so I just got almond and- Hey, what on earth is happening in here?”

He seemed to have located Kurt and Eliza to the bathroom easily when he heard Eliza exclaim an “OW!” very loudly as Kurt yanked the brush.

“Our daughter is having a… well… a bit of a bad hair day,” Kurt responded, eliciting yet another cry from Eliza as he tugged on the brush again.

“Oh, baby!” Blaine gasped, suddenly seeing the brush for the first time. He sidestepped past Kurt into the now very crowded bathroom, and ended up standing in front of his daughter.

Instead of actually being any help at all, he simply held her head in his hands and pulled her to his chest, carding his fingers through her hair.

“Honey, you’re going to make it worse,” Kurt couldn’t help but stress, hands hovering around the area where the brush was twisted.

Instead, Blaine just continued stroking her hair. Therefore, it was a great shock to both Kurt and Blaine when Eliza’s breath started hitching and her shoulders shaking. She was crying into Blaine’s polo.

“Oh, sweetie. It’s okay. It’s gonna be fine,” Blaine said calmly, continuing to pet her hair. “I know exactly what this is like. It put me into a hair gel addiction, for crying out loud!”

At this, she laughed softly into her father’s chest, trying to wipe at her eyes, suddenly feeling a little silly for her frustrated hormonal teenage outburst.

“It’s just so impossible, Dad. I can’t exactly gel my long hair like you did.”

“No, I know,” he continued soothingly.

“Okay, so clearly we’re not getting anywhere like this. What would you like us to do, sweetie?” Kurt asked gently, hesitant to go hacking at her hair with their damn kitchen scissors.

Eliza paused for a second but seemed to reply confidently.

“I want to cut it short. Like, really short.”

At that, Kurt and Blaine seemed to whip their heads to see one another over the top of her hair. In a matter of seconds, they were frantically trying to communicate to one another through wide eyes and hurried lip movements.

“Guys,” Eliza chimed in, head still on Blaine’s chest, “you’re not very subtle when you do that, you know?”

Blaine laughed at that and now moved his hand to her shoulder, pulling her away from him to look her in the eyes.

“Sorry. But you know what, sweetie?” he paused, “I say go for it.”

“WHAT?!” Kurt seemed to screech.

Eliza’s concern on her face seemed to melt away suddenly and her face brightened. “Really?!”

“Yeah! Why not? I’m on board! Besides, my baby could wear a plastic bag on her head and still look like a model,” Blaine said, smiling his toothy grin which made his eyes crinkle.

“Wait! Hold up!” Kurt called order here. “Don’t we think this is a bit of a snap decision? What if you completely regret it tomorrow?!”

“Look, Papa. It’s kind of… not that much of a snap decision. I’ve actually been thinking about it for a few months now. I’ll be honest, I think the hairbrush was a bit of a sign today,” she shrugged, still looking kind of elated at Blaine’s approval, but apprehensive about Kurt’s resistance.

Kurt looked over at Blaine now who took that as his cue to also shrug his shoulders. In that moment, Kurt could have felt a shiver down his spine. God, his daughter really was a little carbon copy of his dramatic husband sometimes. And often enough, Blaine was a smart man who always made excellent judgements. Kurt should just swallow his pride and stand aside this time.

He took a deep inhale of breath, closed his eyes to steady himself and finally made up his mind. “Okay.”

If Eliza looked happy with Blaine’s approval, she was practically ecstatic at Kurt’s.

“YES?!” she cried, jumping at Kurt and hugging him now, a smile blooming on his face to see how happy his daughter was at the new plan.

“Okay then,” Blaine clapped his hands together. “For now, let’s abandon the kitchen scissors. Why don’t we go down to the salon two blocks over and see if we can get you an appointment, instead? The woman who owns the shop is the mother of one of my piano students. I’m sure she’d be happy to get us in.”

“Sounds great to me!” Eliza exclaimed, “I’ll just go put my shoes on and we can go!”

At this, she leant forward and individually kissed first Blaine and then Kurt on the cheek before rushing from the tiny bathroom with a happy and nervous laugh.

Kurt watched her go before turning back to his husband, concern on his face.

“I can’t believe she’s doing this. I mean, come on Blaine, you of all people should know how important dramatic hair changes can be!”

It was then they both knew that each of them were probably thinking about the same times – like when Brittany banned hair gel at the prom and Blaine almost had a meltdown about it.

“Kurt,” Blaine said softly (in that breathy way he always seemed to say Kurt’s name). He moved towards his husband then and stood right in front of him, bringing his hands up to rest on Kurt’s chest as Kurt’s arms automatically circled around Blaine’s waist.

“That’s exactly the reason I want her to do this. She just made a huge decision about her hair. Do you know how impossible that would have been for me to do at 14?”

Kurt looked somewhat puzzled at Blaine’s explanation, willing him to go on.

“See, that’s the thing. I have had such a complex with my hair, I never stopped to think about the impact of that. She has seen me stressing about my hair for as many years as she’s been alive. Well now, I’m setting a good example. I’m not going to let her get the same hang ups I had.”

Kurt wasn’t sure it was possible for him to love his husband any more but he swore, in that moment, he absolutely did. Without saying a word, he leant forward and kissed Blaine breathless, pulling his body even closer before pulling away.

“You are an absolutely amazing father, you know that?” Kurt said, hearts in his eyes as his husband ducked his head.

“Ehhhh, I don’t know. I’ll settle for second best in this house,” Blaine answered with a head tilt and a smile.

The moment, however, was cut short when Eliza came skidding around the corner again, shoes on and in the process of winding a scarf around her neck.

“Guys, come on! You can be gross and in love some other time. I’ve got an appointment to get to.”

By that night, Eliza had already made her Dad take over a hundred pictures of her new hair from every angle, pulling every pose she had seen in her Papa’s various issues of Vogue. Blaine’s favourite picture of the lot was a selfie he took of the three of them together: Kurt holding a delighted Eliza close to his body in an almost headlock, his other hand holding Blaine’s chin to face the camera as he planted a kiss on his cheek.

That was the picture Blaine framed and kept, pride of place, on a window ledge in the bathroom – right next to his tub of hair gel and Eliza’s styling mousse.

Summary: Blaine and Kurt are married with two kids and at the point of their lives they would never imagine having another child. But then Blaine meets a young girl in the most unlikely way and after he learns about the abuse she suffered he can’t help but want to give her the family that loves and care’s for her like she needs.

Blaine isn’t exactly positive how long it has been since Kurt left with Oliver to go to the hospital. He knows he’s on his second cup coffee when his phone rings with Kurt’s name and photo on the screen. He takes a deep breath and picks it up with a quiet “hey.”

“Blaine,” Kurt answers, his voice small and breathy, he’s scared. Blaine instantly wishes he offered to take Oliver knowing how much Kurt hates hospitals, but his mind is running three paces behind Kurt’s tonight.

“Did someone …?” Blaine tries to ask, but he’s too afraid of the answer and chokes on his words.

“No, no” Kurt rushes out and Blaine feels like he can finally breathe, “His drink was spiked with Rohypnol but he wasn’t” Kurt cuts off and Blaine can hear him breathing hard. “He’s going to recover just fine. They want to get him hydrated and make sure it’s out of his system before they let him leave.”

Blaine can’t help the tears that come to his eyes. It’s bad, his drink was drugged, so of course, it’s bad. But, Blaine knows it could have been so much worse. He could have been kidnapped or raped. He could have died. Blane forces his mind to concentrate that Oliver is alive and is being taken care of, that is recovering and will be better.

“Blaine, I’m calling about something else” Kurt’s voice is small again, a little more panicky than before. “Are you sitting down?”

Blaine nods, worried again before he remembers he needs to actually use his voice. “Yeah, I’m sitting.”

“And you’re alone?” Kurt asks. Blaine knows Kurt is referring to Riley since no one else would be up at this hour.

“She’s still sleeping in our room,” Blaine answers. “I was too worried to sleep.”

“I ran into Declan. He told me there was a woman here almost a week ago, claiming to be related to Riley. She saw her on the news and she,” Kurt takes a second to calm himself, his voice getting wetter as he pushes through. “They ran some tests and if everything matches,”

“Kurt, we won’t let them take her” Blaine cuts when Kurt gets too worked up to continue.

“How? We have no legal right to her,” Kurt hisses, voice still filled with emotion.

“We’ll fight it,” Blaine tries to insist, but it’s weak and he knows their probability of winning isn’t high.

“Blaine” It’s only his name but the way Kurt is saying he knows what he means, so he stops his rambling.

“I don’t want to leave Ollie alone for too long,” Kurt says again after a moment of silence from the both of them. “We’re not supposed to know anything about this and Declan told me in confidence, so don’t say anything to anyone.”

“I understand,” Blaine answers his eyes welling up with tears. “I love you”

“I love you too” Kurt responds before hanging up.

He sits there, tears going down his cheeks, unsure of how to move, or think, or breathe. He quickly rushes to dry his face off when he catches Riley coming down the hallway. She looks at him for a moment, pacifier in her mouth. He knows she is too old for it, but she is small for her age so she looks so much like a baby. He’s about to ask if she is okay when she takes off back down the hallway. Blaine feels so much in that moment. He’s worried his crying has frightened her in some way, but he is also glad to see her muscles improving. Her legs are no longer shaking at too much use.

He is about to get up and find her, when she darts back to him, pacifier out of her mouth and bunny in hand. She hands him her bunny and Blaine lets out a wet chuckle at the offer. Kurt has just replaced the scented pack in the stuffed animal and the smell of warm vanilla gives him some comfort. He thanks her, trying to hold back more tears. She climbs up on the sofa next to him and pushes her way into his arms, looping her tiny arms around his neck giving him a hug. Blaine hugs her tightly a few more tears escaping. In this moment, he never wants to let her go.  

He always waits for her to pull away first before letting her go.

“How about we watch a movie?” Blaine suggests after he takes another couple of seconds to compose himself.

She slides down the sofa and over the storage rack of movies, not hesitating to pull Tarzan off the shelf and hand it to Blaine. Blaine smiles and holds back some laughter. It’s the only movie she ever wants to watch. They’ve tried introducing other movies with the same type of family theme, but this is the one that always stuck with her.

“Sure, go get your blanket and I’ll set up the movie.” He instructs, getting off the sofa to turn the television on and put the movie in the player.

She comes back into the room with her pacifier back in her mouth and her blanket trailing behind her. She settles once more on the sofa, this time curling up in the end corner. Blaine thanks her again for sharing her rabbit and hands it back to her to cuddle with before placing the blanket gently over her.

Blaine must have dozed off because the next thing he notices is a soft hand stroking his hair and a light kiss on his forehead. He hums a little bit before forcing his eyes open. Kurt is standing over him behind the sofa with a fond smile on his face. As soon as Blaine goes to move he feels his neck tense up and winces a little. The movement causes Riley, who is now curled up in his lap to stir a little. He lightly rubs her back and she quickly settles.

“How is Ollie?” Blaine whispers, rushing the words out from being so worried.

“He’s fine, just mostly tired now. They expect him to make a full recovery,” Kurt hums coming to sit on the other side of Blaine.

Blaine nods to the answer, trying to figure out what fine means, before asking “And you? How are you?”

Kurt looks shocked and frozen at the question, he fidgets a little before suggesting Blaine goes and see’s Oliver before he falls asleep.

Blaine nods at the suggestion and heads for Oliver’s room. The door is open so Blaine can see Oliver sitting on the bed, looking tired and sickly. Blaine knocks quietly on the door frame alerting Oliver he is there.

“Can I come in?” Blaine asks softly

Oliver nods and takes a deep breath.

“Hey, it’s okay” Blaine begins to comfort taking a spot next to Oliver on the bed, rubbing his back. Oliver sniffles a little more, fighting his tears.

“I’m so sorry dad” he finally cries out and places his head on Blaine’s shoulder.

“You have nothing to be sorry about,” Blaine starts, pulling him close and comforting him like he used to when he was little. “As long as you are telling the truth, which I believe you are, then you did nothing wrong.”

Oliver sniffles a little more and begins to lose his breath in his hysterics.

“I’m not mad, and neither is your Papa. We were just worried about you. We have both had some bad experiences with drinking, so we aren’t surprised you had experience with it, but I was surprised you didn’t tell us you were going to a party.” Blaine explains calmly, trying to carefully word his feelings.

“I didn’t know,” Oliver whimpers and his breath begins to hitch more.

“We don’t need to talk about it now,” Blaine reassures, shushing his cries like he would a baby. “How about you get your pajamas on and we have a movie marathon in the living room?”

Oliver simply nods, using the back of his hand to wipe away his tears. Blaine gives him a light kiss on the forehead before heading back out to the living room, where Kurt is trying to get Riley to eat breakfast.

“We decided to have a pajama party and watch a movie to settle down, care to join us?” Blaine mostly asks Kurt but is mindful to address Riley. Kurt gives a tired smile and leaves the room to get changed.

“When you finish breakfast, you can join us too,” Blaine adds as an incentive for her to finish her nutritional drink.

She nods and takes a careful sip, showing Blaine she is willing to follow rules. Sometimes getting her to eat is a struggle, but Blaine remembers Sophie being worse. He remembers all the formulas they went through to find one that didn’t cause any digestions issues. It took so long that by the time they found one that worked for her she refused to eat, and it turned into something she never really grew out of. Blaine believes that Riley just gets full easily and now that she realizes food will always be available to her and will not be taken away from her she eats a lot less and a lot slower now. When she’s tired, like she is now, she can also be fussy about eating.

It takes the family longer to get settled with a movie than it takes them to fall asleep on the sofa while watching the movie.

 It’s probably the last proper sleep they get for a while since both Oliver and Riley develop a habit of sleeping in Kurt and Blaine’s bedroom when they suffer from nightmares. They try not to let it show, but it’s putting them both on edge. Even if they were too tired to talk it was their time together. It really forces Blaine to think about how this is the time he and Kurt are supposed to rediscover themselves as a couple, especially with Sophie out of the house. Kurt is getting harder to read and that last moment of alone time Blaine was really able to get a better read on Kurt, maybe not well enough to know exactly what was going on, but something. Kurt has also started to pull away from Blaine, again, and Blaine refuses for it to happen, but he doesn’t know how to handle it.

Blaine is blinking at the coffee beans in his hands, trying to remember how the coffee maker works when Kurt comes into the kitchen, his hair still a mess and a tired expression on his face. He gently takes the coffee from Blaine’s hands and measures it out, taking over the task. Kurt was always better at functioning with no sleep, he avoids reasoning why and just focusing on admiring him for it.

“Thank you,” he mumbles taking a seat at the table. Kurt simply hums in response and goes to search for one of Blaine’s mugs.

It quiet except for the coffee maker and Blaine is fighting falling back to sleep in his chair. They haven’t been this tired since Oliver was an infant and refused to sleep at night.  When his coffee is ready Kurt hums his name and hands him the warm cup. Blaine blinks tiredly at it, not sure if he has the energy to drink it.

Blaine is halfway through his cup when Kurt speaks again, something obviously on his mind for a while.

“We might need to consider getting the press involved,” he suggests in a small voice.

It takes Blaine longer than he would like to admit to catch up to what Kurt is talking about. They have avoided the pressed, both have stayed out of the lime light. Blaine isn’t sure if they are a hot enough celebrity couple to get a scandal out there.

“Kurt,” Blaine begins, saying his name through a sigh.

“Everyone always loved you, you will need to get back into the music world before we give them the story,” Kurt continues ignoring Blaine’s intent to argue with him. “I know you several new songs that no one has seen, except for me when I organized your office a couple weeks ago.”

Blaine blinks at him, he had no idea Kurt organized his office, it was one place Kurt agreed that would be off limits. He gives Kurt the benefit of the doubt, thinking maybe one of his OCD attacks got the better of him with all the stress lately.

“I’m not doing well getting back into the working world anyway,” his voice begins to waver and grow smaller. It makes Blaine place his mug down. “No one wants me. They don’t like the show I’ve written, they don’t have any parts for me. I’m not what they’re looking for,” he spits the end out like the words are disgusting.

Blaine wants to cry with him, he wishes he had something to say. They’ve been here before with Kurt. It was always harder for him to get roles, none of Blaine’s words of comfort and encouragement worked then so all he can do is pull Kurt into a hug and let him cry. Blaine knows part of this is Kurt’s exhaustion and later after they are more rested he will find more of the truth behind Kurt’s words.

“We should call your brother for help,” Kurt says through his tears.

“Okay, now I know you’re not thinking right,” Blaine teases. “Cooper is never the answer to any problem. We’re not going to discuss this until we have both slept more. We don’t even know if she is her mother or if she will want custody.”

Kurt doesn’t respond, but Blaine can feel him nodding. He kisses the side of his head tenderly, hoping Kurt can’t read that he is just as worried about the pending situation.
