Blue: 9 facts about my family1. my mother's family is Guyanese, which means I am a hilarious mish mash of cultures because it's in South America, but is part of the Caribbean, and most of the population (like my Grandparents) are Indian. so even without taking in the fact I'm mixed race, I gots all sorts of stuff in me.2. my parents divorced when I was 6 and my brother was a year old.3. I never met my dad's dad, he died when my dad was a kid after the war.4. all my grandparents are dead, my dad's mum in 1992, my pa in 1996 and my nana in 2005.5. I don't have the best relationship with my mother, due to the many years she spent being an abusive alcoholic, but she's doing better now and hopefully will stay sober.6. I was taken on political protests before I could hold my head up by myself.7. we spent a lot of time in Spain when I was a kid, my grandparents owned a villa, and I spent my first two or three Christmases out there.8. my dad writes notes to compilations of Caribbean music, and he's been on the radio a bunch of times because of it which is hilarious.9. I was taken to see Bob Dylan when I was 7 and all I remember is a wrinkly dude on a big screen. my dad remembers telling me to pee in a bush because he'd seen needles in the toilets and refused to take me in there.
