And he’s vain about his hands because he knows he’s a good cook and he also likes what he can do to you with them

Probably his brain too tbh

He knows he’s smart and he’s helped a lot of people so he’s just a tiny bit vain about how smart he is

What would be the worst minor thing about being in a relationship with the SVU people? Not things like: "issues with healthy communication" or "married to the job"; stuff like: "eats in bed", "doesn't do laundry until they're down to 1 sock", "puts empty cartons back in the fridge".

Like he’ll use the last of the milk or soap and puts the bottles back where they were

He says it’s to remind him to get more later

The problem is that he never tells you, so you want cereal in the morning? Sorry, only a single drop of milk left.

Unresponsive during the day and usually late to come home

Sure, he’s working, but he will also just forget to return calls or return texts during breaks

Says he’ll be home by 7? More like 9. Maybe it’s work, maybe he stopped for a drink after and forgot what time it was

Dinner? Only 45 minutes in until she has to leave

Coffee date? You’re only halfway through the cup until she’s out the café door

Maybe you had gone a little over the top. Not that it was necessarily a bad thing, but maybe you had. Your husband Rafael came home on Christmas Eve to be greeted with practically a buffet of candy and pastries on the kitchen counter and you immediately bombarded him with requests to try all of them with you. Not that he could complain.

The two of you ended up on the couch with wrappers all over the coffee table and a Christmas movie playing on the television. Rafael was sitting up while you were laid down with your head on his lap. He ran his fingers through your hair gently as he finished another candy cane. The Christmas movie the two of you were watching currently had a couple sitting by the fireplace with s’mores and hot chocolate.

“Should I make some hot cocoa and s’mores too? Sounds wonderful right now.”

“Even after having all of this sugar?” Rafael looked down at you.

“Might as well keep going, right?” You gave him a half smile.

“Normally I’d say no, but I’m on my 14th candy cane, so why not? We’re going to regret all this sugar, you know.”

“It’s Christmas Eve, all this sugar is just getting us into the spirit for tomorrow morning,” You leaned up and kissed him before getting off of the couch and heading to the kitchen.

When you came back from the kitchen with two cups of cocoa and a plate of s’mores, you indulged in the sugary treats together. You leaned against him when you were done, “I make great cocoa,” you said, which earned a laugh and agreement from Rafael. “It’s just something I love about you. Even more so around the holidays,” He said, moving his head to look at you. When you looked back at him, he captured your lips in a kiss. After a minute, you pulled away giggling, “You taste like candy cane and chocolate.”

He laughed again and pulled you back in.

Authors Note || hi everyone; i’ll be posting another ask for christmas eve tomorrow :) hope everyone’s holiday is going well so far !

You had tasked Rafael to make and decorate gingerbread cookies while you went out shopping for gifts. You knew you’d be gone for a while so you hoped that everything would go smoothly for him while you weren’t there. Last time you left him alone to bake something, he nearly burned the building down. You bounced between stores, buying anything you thought he might like and a few things for yourself along the way too. When you got back to your shared apartment, you were pleased with the smell of gingerbread and no oven fire. Rafael was sitting on the living room couch reading when you bolted past him, hurrying to shove all of the gifts you had bought on your side of the closet in the back where he couldn’t see anything.

When you finally emerged from the bedroom, Rafael looked up from his reading, “How was shopping, mi amor?”

“It went well,” You smiled. “How was decorating the cookies?”

Rafael looked slightly nervous now. “It went… well.”

“Oh, Rafael, you didn’t burn them did you? It’s alright if you did, I can—“

Rafael cut you off, “I didn’t burn them… a few might have broken, though.”

“That’s fine,” You made your way into the kitchen to see a plate of gingerbread cookies on the table. You looked down at them and studied their decor; ragged clothes made of frosting with bodies and limbs covered in small drops of red sprinkles and frosting to look like blood. The broken limbs were also decorated in small amounts of red frosting.

“You made gingerbread zombies?” You looked back over at Rafael, who was still nervous on the couch.

“Well… yes. It made sense to me because of the limbs that broke off.”

You cracked a smile, “I love them.”

“Really?”

“Yes, really. I’ll have to buy you a zombie themed ‘kiss the cook’ apron now.” You walked back over to him, leaning down and kissing his head. “You’re more creative than you let on sometimes.”

“I guess you should task me with more baking assignments then.”

“As long as you don’t set the oven on fire.”
