I also had this cute little idea like on one of Rian's visits he brings Deet and Brea a (live) fizzgig and Deet's like "*GASP*! ...What's that?" and Brea says, "It's a fizzgig!!!" and they're like super excited over it while the dads are just watching. Ok is like 'My girl is so smart :)' So's just 'cutecutecute' and Mal is like '...It's a common animal???' and Deet names it Fluffy and now they have a pet fizzgig that likes biting and pulling on the Skeksis robes and they just have to live w/ it

The entire castle is given orders not to harm the Fizzgig like it has free reign of the entire castle.

It keeps chasing the guards and the Skeksis, all the Skeksis get kind of annoyed until it starts to focus on SkekSil (Apparently the mmmmm does not sound good to a Fizzgig)

SkekVar then starts training it to getting it to attack properly.

SkekSil just walking down a hallway as SkekVar just puts the Fizzgig down ‘Fluffy kill!’ and the Fizzgig just starts chasing the Chamberlain..

Skekparent AU but it's different skekparent AUs mixed together

So, Princess Brea is friends with the Scroll-Keeper. It all began when they met in the Vapra library when she was a childling and she snuck into his luggage to see his library at the castle (someone else came up with this, but I can't find the post :/). Aside from Brea basically breaking into the castle, the Emperor and the All-Maudra didn't really see a problem with it and so allowed her to visit the castle every once in a while just to read books and scrolls. She quickly grows on skekOk and he ends up going "yup this is my kid now."

One day, during her visit, the Hunter's horn is sounded. Of course, Brea is curious as to what it is but skekOk tells her not to worry about it and leaves her alone a bit to see what was up. Of course, Brea wanders out of the library and tries to follow him but ends up losing her way. She stumbles upon a strange, 'wild' gelfling who calls himself Rian the Hunter, and apparently he's come with skekMal the Hunter, a skeksis Brea has never heard of or met before. She's a bit unnerved by Rian, but quickly realizes that he's really just a normal, nice gelfling but with a little bit of edge. They hit it off until their respective skeksis guardians come looking for them, skekOk close to peeing himself upon being so close to skekMal.

They're not the only ones with gelfling kiddos. skekVar grew fond of a Vapra childling named Mira and has been personally training her in hopes of seeing her become captain one day. skekUng, who occasionally returns to the castle, meets strong little Mira at some point and also grows attached. Then he finds out skekVar already called dibs and they argue a little on who gets to adopt this cool little spunky Vapra girl. They end up agreeing to share and that's how Mira got two skeksis dads.

On occasions when Brea's and Rian's visits coincide, they get together with Mira and they talk about their skeksis dads and just have a good time being friends (until the Essence Incident, oops--)

Been seeing a lot of good aus in this fandom already, and the skekparents ones are my favourite. So, I wrote a little something because why not.

Alright so I managed to make a dark version of the dad AU’s (because my brain always turns happy AU’s into angst)

So AU where the Skeksis have like a reverse imprinting thing like SkekMal see’s Rian and is like yep my child now, and this ends up with Skeksis kidnapping baby Rian and Brea (maybe Deet)

But none of the other Skeksis argue because it’s just like oh yeah that’s their kid and they don;t count them as Gelflings anymore they’ve just those ones childlings.

And when the draining happens Rian and co find out and run of course, and while running they see everything the Skeksis lied about and also meet their parents who have had no idea what happened to them thinking they were dead (they had no idea the Skeksis took them)

When the Skesis find them it’s not threatening it’s more like parental i’m so disappointing in you moment and they completely play down the whole draining thing ‘like of course we’re draining Gelflings but your not a Gelfling your my childling now stop being ridiculous and come home’

Just the dad AU’s where the possessive and dark natures are still there and even worse than the originally.

Bonus: oh thra...just thought if the Skeksis we’re like this they wouldn't let the kids die...they’d want them immortal to so when they have essence

I think everything is worse if the skekis honestly loved their kids, and that they were one happy family before they crossed that line. Which makes their “real parents” so hard to accept because they HAD parents, these peoples are strangers to them

Oof yep your right Anon that’s so much worse.

That would be so much worse, like SkekOk turns up at the Tithing with Brea introduces her as his daughter and she’s happy and smiling and...the All-Maudra can;t say or do anything because these are the lords of the crystal and Brea looks at her with no recognition whatsoever.

Or Ordon seeing Rian and SkekMal in the castle and he can't say anything, but he knows that his son...but he’s also not.

Just yeah that’s worse.

So question and I promise no angst train. If Bree, Deet, and Rian are raised by skeksis and have grown not really thinking themselves gelfling do you think Rian sometimes got huffy as a child that he didn’t have wings? Like he kept imagining the cool Hunting tricks he could pull of with them but he never gets wings. Just the three skeksi raised gelfling not understanding gelfling culture or gender.

Yep Deet, Brea and Rian basically grow up with no idea about how Gelfling’s worked/Gelfling culture outside of what their Dad’s told them or what they overheard which was all very dismissive really all they know is that their are multiple tribes and the All Maudra is the person in charge.

None of them had any idea about the wings with lead to awkward moment where Deet started flying, almost flying out the window and SkeSo also having a heart attack, and Brea trying to fly up to get books on the top self only to realize she doesn't know how to get down and ending stuck up there for hours. Rian was very confused when he saw their wings, the others suggested they just appear later for him and then “maybe we just need to make them come out”...which is how Rian ended up trying to jump off the castle roof (Luckily SkekMal was heading back and saw managing to catch the childling just like ‘is there something on the roof? what is RIAN!FUCK!AHHHHH’ and then him going at full speed to stop his son from being destroyed by gravity) SkekMal taught him more of the acrobatic skills after that to stop him from trying that again. (They did try again but only inside the castle)

It’s only when they meet Mira that they find out about Gellfing culture “do you know why I don't have wings?” “...because your a boy?” “...a what now?”

She tells them about the clans and dreamfasting but they never do it...they don’t know what to make of it, it seems weird and they don;t really understand it...the first time they do it is to show Mira’s death to Gurjin (who Mira told about them but never saw them).

And the entire journey to the All Maudra is just a giant culture shock as none of them know anyhting about Gelfling culture and none of them have ever been around this many people (even Rian whose been out of the castle on hints never went into towns or cities) so it’s just mind blowing for them.

SkekMal carrying little Rian on his back on his adventures and the little child nibbles on bones, and little Brea is almost consumed in books for most of her life, and definitely is working on experiments, the emperor gives Deet all the animals and plants she wants, Deet almost forgets that’s she’s never left the castle. They are _content_ which makes everything worse because their parents want to have their children back. But they are happy.

Yep. Yep this makes it worse because they’re happy, this is all they’ve ever known and these are their parents the ones who raised them...

And they’ve been cared for and taught and predicted and it’s literally all they know.

And All-Maudra and Ordon they don’t see them as they are parents can’t even begin to because they’ve never even seen themselves as Gelflings. They know nothing about Gelflings apart from what fathers have told them.

Oh that’s both sweet and sad; they weren’t babies when they were taken but still not old enough to see that something was wrong with being taken away from their homes. Crushes my heart because all Muadra was such a dignified women but I can imagine how her heart must have broken when her daughter went missing or how Ordon comes home for once and his son is gone, all his great deeds and he lest not find his son. It’s almost poetic. ALSO POOR DEET’s PARENTS WE DONT KNOW A LOT BUT IM SAD

It would have definitely affected all of them so much, just years of searching (Hell the All-Muadra most likely asked Skeksis for help she was so desperate but was told there was nothing they could do...maybe Ordon did as well since he’s captain of the guards but he was also dismissed)

And then of course the reunions and just so much more angst.
